Neben dem Zahnstangentriebrad α der Koks- - ausdrückmaschine, Fig. 3, wird ein zweites Triebrad b befestigt, welches in das Zahnrad c eingreift. Das Zahnrad c sitzt lose auf der Welle e und wird durch Ein- oder Ausrücken der Kupplung / mit der Welle verbunden bezw. gelöst. Neben dem Zahnrad c ist die Doppelkettenrolle d auf derselben Welle befestigt; von dieser Rolle gehen die beiden Ketten χ und χ^l, welche an ihren Enden mit Haken versehen sind, nach den ihnen züge-hörigen Ofenthüren, χ über die Rolle ρ nach der hinteren Thür, x¹ über die beiden Rollen- und ρ¹, Fig. i, nach der vorderen Thür. Auf der Welle e sitzt noch das Zahnrad g, welches in das kleinere Zahnrä'dchen h eingreift; auf der Welle dieses Rädchens ist die Bremsscheibe ζ, Fig. 3, befestigt, welche durch ein gewöhnliches Bremsband festgehalten werden kann. Auf dem vorderen Theile der Koksausdrückmaschine ist das Gestell kl mn stabil angebracht. Auf diesem Gestell ist der Balken u, Fig. ι und 2, mit den beiden Rollen- undj>¹ befestigt, welcher bis zur vorderen Kante der Oefen reicht, wo derselbe durch das Gestell m η und die beiden Rollen 0 und ο * fahrbar getragen wird. Die Maschine wird jetzt in Ruhe gestellt, die Bremse i festgezogen und die Kupplung / ausgerückt. Die beiden Thüren werden nun durch die festgezogene Bremse oben gehalten, während das Zahnrad c durch das Ausrücken der Kupplung/ sich lose auf der Welle e drehen kann; der Koks kann nun wie gewöhnlich ausgedrückt werden. Ist die Zahnstange aus dem Ofen zurück, so wird die Bremse i so weit gelöst, bis die Thüren durch ihre eigene Schwere heruntergleiten.
