Description

Rough Protective Layer Photographic Material This invention relates be careful not to glue unexposed photographic material through use a special protective layer with an uneven surface.

Photographic layers, which are special against pressure and kinking are sensitive, often require relatively high additions of plasticizers to the Layers to take away the brittleness. With the increased addition of such substances at the same time, the tendency for the film material to stick together, in particular, also increases if it is in roll form. Attempts have been made to prevent this from sticking Applying protective coats to help identify the appropriate effective ingredient contain hydrophobic substances. Although these measures lead to a noticeable Reduction in sticking, but they have other disadvantages, e.g. B. general Cloudiness of the layer, which often occurs in patches, or undesired erosion on the rollers during the machining of the film and finally also Removal of the emulsion layer itself. In addition, it is known that the usual Matting layers with an uneven surface provide protection against sticking Offer. However, these known layers remain with the photographic material permanently connected and lead to disturbances in various photographic processes in the copying process or in the chemical aftertreatment such as weakening and strengthening. Water-soluble protective layers are also known.

The invention is based on the object, a rough, particularly to create a cheap protective layer against sticking, which is also not permanent remains associated with the photographic material. This task is according to the invention solved in that either on the emulsion side or on the back of a photographic material with at least one light-sensitive layer on the surface rough coating is attached, which also after exposure preferably removable by exposure to photographic baths or water and contains finely dispersed terephthalic acid as a roughening agent.

Such a protective layer is obtained by applying an aqueous one Solution of a plastic which is soluble in photographic baths or in water or a natural protective colloid in which terephthalic acid is suspended. the suitable particle size can be found by trial and error, as can the amount. The following example is intended to explain the production of this protective layer in more detail. EXAMPLE 1 50 cc of 10% are added to 200 cc of a 5% terephthalic acid dispersion Solution of polyvinyl alcohol and 10 cc 3o / o solution of oleic acid methyl tauride added. This dispersion is diluted with 750 ccm of water for the casting and on the back of a photographic film and dried. The pouring can also be applied the dried backcoat layer or poured onto the protective layer of the emulsion will. The polyvinyl alcohol is by polyvinyl alcohol derivatives, carboxymethyl cellulose, water-soluble cellulose ethers etc. replaceable.
