Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a container for vehicle transport according to the preamble of claim 1.
Background
A container for transporting vehicles located therein is generally rectangular in configuration having first and second end faces, two long sides, a bottom, and a top.
With containers of this nature, vehicles that are sometimes transported over long distances are protected from damage. Moreover, vehicles transported in containers are protected from improper access and unauthorized inspection. This is particularly desirable when transporting prototype cars, sports cars and rare and old cars.
Corresponding containers are also used for example for air freight. In this case, it is particularly important to ensure that such containers are accommodated within the contours of the aircraft cargo compartment. However, prior art containers often have the problem that it is difficult to load the respective vehicles into them, because, as mentioned above, these containers cannot exceed a certain size and therefore also a certain maximum internal size. A driver driving a vehicle into such a container must be able to exit the vehicle and the container through the lateral opening. This requires a different opening or requires limiting the size of the vehicle that can be loaded into such a container, for example, because the doors cannot be opened large enough to exit. The stability of such containers may also be impaired by additional openings in the side or end walls. The multiple different openings in such containers also require that each of these openings be individually protected from unauthorized opening.
Published german application DE 102010042510 a1 describes a container for vehicle transport, in which a cover element with an access door is movably arranged on a floor element.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a container for transporting vehicles located therein, in particular for transporting by air freight, which container on the one hand can be loaded and unloaded as simply as possible while providing as maximum stability as possible, and on the other hand can also be matched in size as optimally as possible to existing aircraft cargo holds.
This object is achieved by the subject matter of independent claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are apparent from the dependent claims.
The construction of a container according to the invention for transporting vehicles located therein, in particular a container for transport via air freight (i.e. in particular an air freight container), is substantially rectangular, having a first and a second end face, two long sides, a bottom and a top. In this design, in the region of the roof, a part of the container according to the invention can be arranged to be inclined so that loading into the aircraft cargo hold in cross section is possible. The container according to the invention has a floor element, a frame structure and at least two cover elements. The at least two cover elements cover the end faces, the long sides and the roof of the container when the container is in the closed state. The floor element covers the bottom of the container so that the vehicle loaded into the container is not visible nor accessible from the outside when the container is in the closed state. The frame structure is built on the floor element and, in the top area, the at least two cover elements are hinged to the frame structure so that they can be turned upwards away from the floor element when the container is in the open state. Thereby, the container according to the invention can be simply loaded and unloaded when the container is in the open state. The frame structure is rigidly attached to the floor element and the at least two cover elements are movably, hingedly attached to the frame structure.
By means of the container according to the invention a structurally simple and stable transport container is provided, which has the advantage of easy handling without significant difficulties during loading and unloading, and which provides good stability while requiring relatively little space. The container is easily lockable as it has essentially only two elements, i.e. preferably cover elements each being a single piece which are turned up accordingly to be opened.
The structure of the container according to the invention is particularly simple when the at least two cover elements are hinged to the frame structure by means of at least one swivel element so as to be individually pivotable, preferably in particular to a part of the frame structure extending in the longitudinal direction in the middle of the container. In this case, "separately pivotable" means that each of the at least two cover elements can be flipped up on its own, so that the vehicle can be accessed from one side only, depending on the actual situation, without the respective other cover element also having to be flipped up. The rotary element here can in each case be an element such as a rotary bearing or a piano hinge (piano hinge).
Preferably, the at least one rotating element or the resultant rotational axis extends in the longitudinal direction of the container. In this case, the at least one rotating element is attached to the frame structure on the one hand and to at least one of the applied cover elements on the other hand.
For easier handling, in particular during opening of the container according to the invention, the at least two cover elements are spring-loaded relative to the frame structure by the gas spring element, so that the opening action of the at least two cover elements is at least force-supported when turned upwards into the open state and the at least two cover elements are held in the open state by the force of the gas spring element. Preferably, a gas spring element is coupled to each cover element at each end face of the container according to the present invention.
The container according to the invention can preferably be locked simply by: the at least two cover members are lockable to the floor member by at least one locking member such that they cannot be flipped up from the floor member to an open condition. For this purpose, the locking elements can for example lock the two cover elements to each other, or the locking elements can also lock each of the two cover elements individually to the frame structure, or each of the cover elements can be locked to the arrangement in the region of the floor element.
Preferably, in this case, the at least one locking element can be equipped with an element for customs sealing.
In order to provide a device for simple driving of a vehicle into a container according to the invention in a space-saving manner, it is preferred that at the first end face of the container a ramp is provided which is pivotally attached to the floor element of the container, so that on the one hand the ramp can be pivoted into the container so that it is locked to the frame structure substantially perpendicular to the bottom, and on the other hand the ramp can be pivoted outwards so that it can be used as a loading ramp for the floor element. Vertical storage is advantageous because thereby a small storage space is required for such loading ramps. The loading ramp may be attached to the frame structure by means of, for example, clamping bars. In the closed state of the container, the loading ramp is thus located inside the container according to the invention and is thus protected.
In order to be able to access the interior of the container (at least visible or similar) if necessary even when the container is in a substantially closed state, or in order to integrate additional elements into the container interior region, according to the invention at least one of the at least two cover elements may have an additional service opening. Thereby, operation in the area of the service opening is possible without opening the entire container.
In order to secure the vehicle in the container, in particular, the container preferably has a perforated vehicle-drivable apparatus in the region of the floor element, which is suitable for the vehicle to be driven onto it in order to be able to lock the vehicle in place on the vehicle-drivable apparatus.
In order to make it easy to handle the container according to the invention, for example during loading and unloading operations of an aircraft, the container according to the invention has a recess for a lifting element of an industrial truck on at least one long side in the area of the floor element.
For easier handling and operation in confined space conditions, the floor element preferably has at least one support element at the second end face, which can be turned around itself, on which support element the container can be moved when it is lifted at the first end face. The rotatable support element can be provided here substantially in the form of a roller or as two rollers in the floor element in the application region of the end face.
The invention will be explained in detail below on the basis of exemplary explained embodiments.
Drawings
Figure 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a container according to an embodiment of the invention in an open state;
fig. 2 shows a perspective view of the container of fig. 1 in a closed state.
Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a container 1 in an open state.
The container 1 has a frame structure 5 which is built on a floor element 4 and which has at least two cover elements 2, 3 in the top area, which are individually pivotably hinged to the frame structure 5 by means of a rotary element 6 extending in the longitudinal direction, so that the respective cover element can be turned upwards away from the floor element 4 as shown in fig. 1 when the container is in an open state. The pivoting movement of the individual cover elements 2, 3 is illustrated in fig. 1 by corresponding double arrows. The gas spring element 7 spring-carries the cover elements 2, 3 (relative to the frame structure 5) such that they can be held in an open-state position. The floor element 4 has a perforated vehicle-drivable apparatus 12 which is suitable for driving a vehicle thereon and locking it in place. On the long side of the floor element 4 there is provided a recess 13 for a lifting element of an industrial truck. At the first end face of the container, a ramp 9 is situated which is pivotably attached to the floor element 4 of the container, which ramp on the one hand can be pivoted into the container so as to be locked to the frame structure substantially perpendicularly to the bottom, and on the other hand can be pivoted outwards so as to serve as a ramp 9 for riding onto the floor element 4. In the example of fig. 1, the ramp 9 is designed in the form of a plurality of parts, each having two ramp elements, which are folded, each associated with one side of the vehicle, so that the ramp does not extend over the entire width of the container, but only locally lies in the region of the wheels of the respective vehicle driving onto it. This can reduce the weight accordingly.
It is noted that the frame structure 5 may be made of metal bars, which provide the required stability, wherein the frame structure 5 is rigidly attached to the floor element 4.
The container of fig. 1 is shown in a closed state in fig. 2. Components having the same functions as in fig. 1 are denoted by the same reference numerals and are not separately described.
Visible in fig. 2 is a substantially rectangular design of the container according to the invention, having a first end face 10 and a second end face 20, two long sides 30, a bottom 40 and a top 50. The locking element 8 locks the at least two cover elements 2, 3 such that they cannot be turned upwards from the floor element into the open state when they are in the closed and locked state shown. In fig. 2, an additional service opening 11 in the region of the second end face 20 of the container 1 can also be seen. Also visible in the illustration of fig. 2 is an embodiment of a rotatable support element 14 embodied as two rollers, by means of which the container can be moved when the first end face 10 of the container is lifted.
While at least one exemplary embodiment has been presented in the foregoing description, numerous changes and modifications may be made. The described embodiment is only one example and is not intended to limit the effective scope, applicability, or configuration of the container in any way. Rather, the foregoing description will provide those skilled in the art with a solution for implementing at least one exemplary embodiment of a container according to the invention, in which numerous changes may be made in the function and design of the container with respect to the elements described in this exemplary embodiment, without departing from the scope of protection of the appended claims and their legal equivalents.
