Abstract

Description
本发明涉及具有改进的物理性质的聚乙烯组合物。特别是本发明涉及聚乙烯组合物,所述组合物由几种成分制备并且它们适合于制造有良好的抗应力龟裂性的韧性管材和电缆隔离材料、有良好的外观和低凝胶含量的膜类产品以及吹制产品如瓶。
一般来说聚乙烯材料的强度取决于分子量。分子量越大,弹性、劲度和抗蠕变性越大。在有很高分子量的产品中,加工性能下降,使制造最终产品成为问题。
一种制造更适合不同的应用的聚乙烯类产品的方法是由有不同分子量分布的几种不同的成分制成聚乙烯组合物。这样的方法公开在US 4336352中,其中组合物是由三种不同的成分制成的,所述成分是通过一种包括多步骤的方法或用分开的方法制备的,其中产物被熔融混合在一起以得到最终产品。按照该方法,由有1000-100000的分子量的成分(A)、有100000-1000000的分子量的成分(B)和有400000-6000000的分子量的成分(C)制造终产品。终产品中成分(C)的量在1-10%(wt)之间。换言之,按该文献的方法的思想是向有不同分子量的两种成分的混合物中加入少量(1-10%)的有很高分子量的聚乙烯。
在EP公开129312中,公开了另一种相似的有三种成分的聚乙烯组合物,其中由有50000-500000的分子量的成分(A)、有100000-1500000的分子量的成分(C)和有50000-500000的分子量的成分(B)制成产品,所述成分(B)是一种由一种铬催化剂制备的均聚物。成分(A)、(B)和(C)可以按照该文献制成分开的成分或成分(A)和(C)可以一起形成一种通过两相法制备的产品,其中成分(A)和(C)的重量比在70∶30-30∶70之间。在后一种情况下,可以认为产品是一种由单峰产品(B)和双峰产品(A/C)形成的混合物。
在US 4230831中还公开了一种由三种成分制成的类似的产品。在该情况下,第三种成分是低密度聚乙烯,它是由高压法制备的。与由低压法制备的聚乙烯相比,它有不同的较多支链结构的化合物。用这种方法不能得到好的ESCR值。
在EP公开517222中,公开了一种由一种单峰成分和一种双峰成分制成的聚乙烯产品,所述成分已被熔混在一起。在该情况下,该产品由50-80%(wt)的有很宽分子量分布的极高密度聚乙烯和20-50%(wt)的熔体指数MFR2在0.5-2之间的LLD聚乙烯或LD聚乙烯制成,并且所得到的产品适合于制造用于低温条件的管、板和膜。
正如US 4336352所述,添加有极高分子量的成分由于引起胶凝和使终产品更硬挺而降低了产品的均质性,从而使加工更困难。
发现按EP公开129312所建议的将均聚物加入双峰聚合物中会削弱终产品的抗应力龟裂性。
在由多相聚合法制备的并且含有低分子量的聚乙烯和高分子量的聚乙烯的双峰产品中,加工性能可以得到大大改进并且分子量分布可被控制在一个宽范围内。然而,发现按照本发明能够以特定的方式改进有极为不同的分子量的两相的混合,从而改进产品的形态和加工性能并且优化机械性能。当试图实现在加工性能和机械性能方面的大的改进时,双峰产品的相必须是极为不同的。这需要非常精确地控制所述相。
本发明基于发现,共聚用单体分布在双峰产品的两种主要成分之间的分子量分布区域中的优化是重要的。在该区域中甚至少量特定的第三成分都会引起终产品性能的显著改进。特别是按照本发明已经发现,在双峰组合物的成分的分子量分布的中部增加共聚单体会显著影响某些性质。另外,在该分子量区域中部的增加会改进双峰产品的混溶性,从而增加终产品的均质性。
从而本发明涉及一种聚乙烯组合物,该组合物含有85-99%(wt)的有一种双峰分子量分布的成分(A)和一种有一种单峰分子量分布的成分(B)。成分(B)是一种线性乙烯聚合物,它有150000-600000的分子量、3.5-9.5的分子量分布、0.5-10的熔体指数MFR21和控制在910-960kg/m3范围内的密度,并且以终产品计算的成分(B)的量在1-15%(wt)之间。
按照本发明的聚乙烯组合物是由两种主要成分制成的,另一种是有双峰分子量分布的双峰成分。该成分有下列一般性能:

该成分由一种低分子量部分构成,该部分优选有5000-500000的分子量、2.5-9的分子量分布Mw/Mn和10-1000g/10min的熔体指数MFR2和950-980kg/m3的密度。最优选的是该成分有较高的密度,优选950-980kg/m3和高熔体流动MFR2,优选150-500。该部分占所有双峰成分的比例优选为40-60%。双峰成分的另一部分包括有300000-900000的计算分子量Mw和4.5-12的分子量分布的部分。该部分占所有双峰成分的比例优选为60-40%。计算分子量是例如通过由低摩尔物料部分的分子量分布和分子量分布双峰加权乘积计算得到的,所述分布是由凝胶渗透法测得的。
优选通过一种两步法制备双峰成分,其中在第一聚合步骤中制成低分子量部分,并且在第二步中在另一反应器中继续聚合以制备双峰产品。按照本发明还能够在第一反应器中制成高分子量成分并且在第二反应器中制成低分子量成分。
特别优选的是通过一种两阶段法制备双峰成分,其中第一步由一个循环反应器完成,其中乙烯在丙烷介质中聚合,其中第二步由一个气相反应器完成。然而,这两个阶段都可以为淤浆聚合或气相聚合。
按照本发明的聚乙烯组合物中的另一种主要成分是一种有单峰分子量分布并有优选150000-600000的分子量、3.5-9.5的分子量分布和0.5-10的熔体指数MFR21的线性乙烯聚合物。控制该成分的密度使得它在910-960kg/m3之间。按照本发明,发现在单峰成分的密度高于950kg/m3时终产品的抗应力龟裂性大大降低。
从而,该成分可以是具有该密度范围的上限附近的密度的一种乙烯均聚物,靠此特别是在均质性和抗蠕变性方面实现改进,使终产品适合于制造薄膜。
按照本发明的最优选的实施方案,单峰成分是一种线性乙烯共聚物,通过在聚合中添加作为共聚用单体的C4-C8α-烯烃来控制所述共聚物的密度,所述α-烯烃的量使该成分的密度在910-950kg/m3范围内,优选在920-945kg/m3范围内。按照本发明,发现将少量的该共聚物成分添加到所述双峰成分中会优化混合物的共聚用单体的分布和分子量分布,靠此显著地改进混合物的抗应力龟裂性。从而,按照本发明以终产品计算的共聚物成分的量在1-15%(wt)之间,优选在2-12%(wt)之间。
制备共聚物时所用的共聚单体可以是任何C4-C4α-烯烃或其混合物。从而共聚用单体可以选自例如由1-丁烯、1-己烯、4-甲基-1-戊烯、1-辛烯或其混合物组成的组。可以选择共聚物中的共聚用单体的量为0.5-10%(wt)。
可以用各种适合的方法如淤浆聚合法或气相聚合法制备单峰成分B。至于催化剂,任何种类的齐格勒-纳塔型催化剂、锆催化剂或金属茂催化剂可以与常规助催化剂一起使用。
按照本发明的聚乙烯组合物还可以用一种多阶段聚合法制备,其中例如在第一步中制成单峰成分,该成分的量等于终产品的1-15%(wt),并在第二和第三聚合步骤中制备双峰成分。
如果分开制备双峰成分和共聚物成分,优选在一台挤压机中通过熔融混合将它们混合到一起,所述挤压机可以是能进行有效混合的任何类型的挤压机。
另外,按照本发明的聚乙烯组合物还可以被如此制备,使被包括在低分子量部分中的这部分的一部分单独加入到由双峰成分和单峰成分形成的混合物中。优选在一个挤压机中进行混合,双峰成分和单峰聚合物成分在开始时被加入到挤压机中,并且一部分如1-50%(wt)的低分子量成分作为挤压机的侧进料被加入其中。用这种方式可以改进以芬兰专利申请FI931343中所述的方法制备的终产品的均质性。
进一步通过实施例描述本发明。用CTL(恒定拉伸载荷)试验利用5.5Mpa的张力测定抗应力龟变性(ESCR)。在该方法中,观察在预先有切口的标准样品条中的裂纹进展情况。结果以试验条断裂所需的时间(h)来描述。
实施例1
用两步法制备一种双峰聚乙烯成分A,其中第一步由环式聚合组成并且第二步由气相聚合组成。环式反应器的产率为35-40kg/h并且气相反应器的产率与之相同。至于催化剂,使用按照芬兰专利申请FI916192制备的一种齐格勒-纳塔催化剂并使用烷基铝作为助催化剂。催化剂只加入到环式反应器中。

结果表明,与只使用对比实验1和2中的双峰组合物相比,使用按照本发明的组合物可以进一步改进ESCR值。在实施例5中,向双峰聚乙烯中加入一种均聚物,所述均聚物已通过使用铬催化剂制得并且其密度较高如为952kg/m3。在这种情况下ESCR值也比按照本发明的组合物差得多。在实验5中得到最好的抗应力龟裂性,在该实验中使用一种均聚物。

按照实施例1制备一种双峰聚乙烯,将在环式反应器中制造的有高密度(975kg/m3)和高熔体指数(MFR2=405)的聚合物部分加入气相反应器中,在该反应器中继续进行聚合以制造双峰产品。将1-丁烯作为共聚用单体加入气相反应器中。在环式反应器中制造的成分和在气相反应器中制造的成分的比值是50∶50。得到的双峰聚乙烯有下列性质:MFR5 0.34MFR21 9FFR21/5 26.5Mw 281000Mw/Mn 21.3密度 951.1kg/m3共聚用单体含量 约1.4%
同样按照实施例1制备一种密度为937kg/m3、MFR21为4、分子量Mw为237000和Mw/Mn为6.1的乙烯-丁烯共聚物B4。该共聚物中共聚用单体的量为1.1%(wt)。
成分A和B在挤出机中按照实施例1熔融混合。产品的性质示于下表2中。

在各种条件下成分A和B在一台挤出机中熔融混合。所得的产品的性质示于下表3中。表3

结果清楚地表明,当添加有密度大于950kg/m3的均聚物到双峰产品中时,ESCR性能没有改进而是大大变差,添加量越大,性能越差。
在本文中,MFR是熔体流动速率的英文缩写,见IS01133标准,有时也称为熔体指数,缩写为MI或I。其测量可在不同条件下进行,如IS01133:1991(E)表A.2中,聚乙烯的测试为温度190℃,载荷可为2.16kg、5.00kg和21.6kg。载荷一般是以上面缩写脚标形式标注。MFR2为在190℃载荷2.16kg条件下测定的熔体流动速率;MFR21表示190℃载荷21.6kg条件下测定的熔体流动速率。
上述双峰分子量分布的聚乙烯成分A优选以多步方法生产。为此,仅可测量总的聚合物A的平均分子量和在第一步聚合中生产的成分C1的平均分子量。第二步聚合生产的成分C2的平均分子量不能直接测量,只能从总聚合物A中两个测量的平均分子量和成分C1的重量分数来计算。可用等式Mw·b=w1·Mw1+w2·Mw2计算,式中Mw·b是共混物(成分A)的重均分子量,w1和w2是共混物中各成分(C1和C2)的重量分数,Mw·1和Mw·2是共混物成分(C1和C2)的重量分数,Mw·1和Mw·2是共混物成分(C1和C2)的重均分子量。
Claims (12)
1.聚乙烯组合物,该组合物含有有双峰分子量分布的成分A,含量为85-99%(wt)和有单峰分子量分布的成分B,其特征在于成分(A)是由成分(C1)和成分(C2)构成,所述成分(C1)分子量在5000-500000之间、分子量分布Mw/Mn在2.5-9之间并且熔体流动指数MFR2在10-1000g/10min之间,所述成分(C2)的计算分子量Mw在300000-900000之间并且分子量分布在4.5-12之间;成分B是一种有150000-600000的分子量、3.5-9.5的分子量分布、0.5-10的熔体流动指数MFR21和有控制在910-960kg/m3范围内的密度的线性乙烯聚合物,并且终产品中成分B的量在1-15%(wt)之间。
2.按照权利要求1的聚乙烯组合物,其特征在于成分B是一种有通过在聚合中添加作为共聚用单体的C4-C8α-烯烃来控制的密度的线性乙烯共聚物,所述添加量使该成分的密度在910-950kg/m3范围内。
3.按照权利要求2的聚乙烯组合物,其特征在于共聚用单体选自由1-丁烯、1-己烯、4-甲基-1-戊烯、1-辛烯及其混合物组成的组。
4.按照权利要求1的聚乙烯组合物,其特征在于成分C1的熔体流动指数MFR2在150-500之间,并且密度在950-980kg/m3之间。
5.按照权利要求1-4任一项权利要求的聚乙烯组合物,其特征在于成分B含有0.5-10%(wt)的共聚用单体。
6.按照权利要求1-4任一项权利要求的聚乙烯组合物,其特征在于成分A和B是熔混在一起的。
7.按照权利要求6的聚乙烯组合物,其特征在于它是通过添加1-50%(wt)的成分C到成分A和B的混合物中而制得的。
8.按照权利要求7的聚乙烯组合物,其特征在于它是通过将成分A和B在一台挤出机中混合在一起并且添加作为挤出机的侧进料的至少一部分成分(C1)而制得的。
9.按照权利要求1-4任一项权利要求的聚乙烯组合物,其特征在于它有下列性质:
密度 930-960kg/m3
Mw 120000-400000
Mw/Mn 7-45
MFR2 0.02-1.0。
10.按照权利要求1-4任一项权利要求的聚乙烯组合物,其特征在于成分(A)是通过一种装有齐格勒-纳塔催化剂的环式气相反应器制备的。
11.按照权利要求1的聚乙烯聚合物,其特征在于成分(C1)是在一个环式反应器中利用丙烷作为介质制备的。
12.按照权利要求1-4任一项权利要求的聚乙烯组合物,其特征在于成分A和/或B是通过在齐格勒-纳塔、铬或金属茂催化剂存在下聚合乙烯制备的。
