技术领域
本发明涉及“增强”玻璃丝(或纤维),即能增强有机和/或无机材料并可用作纺织纱的玻璃丝(或纤维),这些丝可以采用这种方法得到,该方法在于机械拉制一般从位于通过焦耳效应加热拉丝模底部的孔流出的熔化玻璃细丝。
更具体地,本发明目的在于得到玻璃丝具有高的比杨氏模量,还具有特别有利的SiO2-Al2O3-CaO-MgO类的四组成。
背景技术
该增强玻璃丝领域是玻璃工业的非常特别的领域。这些丝是从特定玻璃组合物生产的,按照前面指出的方法,所使用的玻璃应能拉制成直径几微米的细丝形式,还应能形成可起到增强作用的连续丝。
在某些应用,特别是航空应用中,寻求获得适合在动力学条件下使用的大尺寸部件,因此它们能抗很高的机械应力。这些部件最经常地是有机和/或无机材料基的和增强物(例如呈玻璃丝形式)基的,一般而言,该增强物是该体积的50%以上。
通过该增强物机械性能的改进,特别地是比杨氏模量的改进,可以改进这样一些部件的机械性能与产率。
在用玻璃制成的增强丝的情况下,原则上通过构成它们的玻璃组成调节增强物的性能。人们非常熟知的用于增强有机和/或无机材料的玻璃丝是由玻璃E或R构成的。
通常,玻璃丝E或者原样或者以例如织物的组织集合形式用于构成增强物。玻璃E可以被纤维化的这些条件是非常有利的:相应于玻璃粘度接近于1000泊的温度的加工温度是相对低的,约1200℃,液相线温度比加工温度低约120℃,并且其反玻璃化速度也是低的。
运用于电子和航空领域的标准ASTMD578-98中所确定的玻璃E的组成如下(以重量百分数计):52-56%SiO2、12-16%Al2O3、16-25%CaO、5-10%B2O3、0-5%MgO、0-2%Na2O+K2O、0-0.8%TiO2、0.05-0.4%Fe2O3、0-1%F2。
但是,块状玻璃E的比杨氏模量相对低些,约33MPa/kg/m3。
根据标准ASTMD578-98,描述了任选地无硼玻璃E的其它增强丝。这些丝具有下述组成(以重量百分数计):52-62%SiO2、12-16%Al2O3、16-25%CaO、0-10%B2O3、0-5%MgO、0-2%Na2O+K2O、0-1.5%TiO2、0.05-0.8%Fe2O3、0-1%F2。
无硼玻璃E的纤维化条件不如有硼玻璃E的纤维化条件好,但是它们依然在经济上是可接受的。其比杨氏模量依然与玻璃E的性能水平相当。
由US4199364还知道无硼、无氟的经济玻璃,这种玻璃的机械性能,特别是抗拉强度与玻璃E是可相比的。
块状玻璃R为人们所熟知是因为它们具有良好的机械性能,特别是比杨氏模量,约33.5MPa/kg/m3。另一方面,熔化和纤维化条件比上述E类玻璃受有更多的约束,因此其最后成本更高。
FR-A-1435073给出了玻璃R的组成。其组成如下(以重量百分数计):50-65%SiO2、20-30%Al2O3、2-10%CaO、5-20%MgO、15-25%CaO+MgO、SiO2/Al2O3=2-2.8、MgO/SiO2<0.3。
还曾进行提高玻璃丝机械强度的其它试验,但一般而言不利于其纤维化能力,因此这种加工变得更困难或被迫改进现有纤维化设备。
因此需要拥有这样一些增强玻璃丝,它们的成本还尽可能接近于玻璃E的成本,而机械性能水平与玻璃R的相当。
发明内容
本发明的目的是提供这样一些增强玻璃丝,它们具有玻璃R的机械性能,特别是比杨氏模量水平,改进的熔化和拉制性能接近于玻璃E。
借助其组合物含有下述组分的玻璃丝而达到这个目的,该组分在下面以重量百分数表示所确定的范围内:
二氧化硅SiO2是构成本发明玻璃网络的其中一种氧化物,并且对其稳定性起着十分重要的作用。在本发明的范围内,二氧化硅的比率低于50%时,玻璃粘度变得非常低,纤维化时反玻璃化的风险性会增加。超过65%时,这种玻璃变得非常粘稠,还难以熔化。优选地,二氧化硅的比率是58-63%。
氧化铝Al2O3也构成本发明玻璃网络的形成物,并且与二氧化硅结合时对于该模量起着十分重要的作用。在本发明所确定的范围内,该氧化物的百分数降低到12%以下会引起比杨氏模量降低,并有助于提高反玻璃化的最大速度,而该氧化物的百分数强烈增加到超过20%会引起反玻璃化风险与增加粘度。优选地,所选择组合物的氧化铝含量是13-18%。有利地,二氧化硅与氧化铝的含量之和高于70%,更好地高于75%,这样能够得到有意义的比杨氏模量值。
石灰CaO能够调节粘度与控制玻璃的反玻璃化。CaO含量优选地是13-15%。
氧化镁MgO,与CaO完全一样,起到流化剂的作用,并且对该比杨氏模量也有有利的影响。MgO含量是6-12%,优选地7-9%。
CaO/MgO重量比对控制这种反玻璃化显得十分重要。本发明人已确定,CaO/MgO比低于或等于2,优选地高于1.3能够有利于玻璃在多相中结晶(钙长石:CaO·Al2O3·SiO2,透辉石:CaO·MgO·2SiO2,甚至镁橄榄石:2MgO·SiO2或顽辉石:MgO·SiO2),这些相参与竞争,提高它对该液相的依赖性。这种竞争的效果在于限制结晶相的最大结晶速度,因此减少了该玻璃的反玻璃化危险性,并且有可能以良好状态进行拉制。
在这种玻璃组合物中可以有其它的碱土金属氧化物,例如BaO和SrO、这些氧化物的总含量保持低于3%,优选地低于1%,以便不增加该玻璃的密度,这样效果在于降低比杨氏模量。一般而言,该组合物基本无BaO和SrO。
氧化锂Li2O,与MgO完全一样,起到流化剂的作用,还能够增加比杨氏模量。超过0.8%时,Li2O会引起加工温度明显降低,因此成型范围(加工温度与液相线温度之差)明显减小,这样不再能够在令人满意的状态下使玻璃纤维化。
此外,Li2O是很贵的,因为它基本上是由两种原料提供的,一种是合成原料,昂贵的,为碳酸锂,而另一种是天然原料,为锂辉石,它只是含有7-8%Li2O,因此它应该大量加到可玻璃化混合物中。另外,氧化锂极易挥发,因此熔化时损失达到约50%。由于所有这些理由,本发明玻璃组合物中的Li2O含量是0.1-0.8%,优选地限制到0.6%,还更好地限制到0.5%。
优选地,Al2O3、MgO和Li2O的含量之和高于或等于23%,这样能够得到完全令人满意的比杨氏模量(高于36MPa/kg/m3),同时具有良好的纤维化条件。
氧化硼B2O3起到流化剂的作用。它在本发明玻璃组合物中的含量限制到3%,优选地2%,以避免污染物的挥发与放出问题。
二氧化钛起到流化剂的作用,并且有助于提高比杨氏模量。它可能作为杂质存在(它在该组合物中的含量这时是0-0.5%)或可能有意添加。在后一种情况下,需要使用往该可玻璃化混合物中带来尽可能最少杂质的非普通原料,这样增加了成本。
只有当TiO2的含量低于3%,优选地低于2%,有意地添加TiO2才是有利的,因为超过了,这种玻璃就会着不理想的黄色。
Na2O和K2O可以加到本发明的组合物中,有助于制约反玻璃化,还任选地降低玻璃的粘度。但是,Na2O和K2O的含量应该保持低于2%,以避免玻璃抗水解性的不利降低。优选地,该组合物含有0.8%以下的这两种氧化物。
在该组合物中可以有氟F2,有助于玻璃熔化和纤维化。然而,它的含量限制到1%,因为超过了,可能有污染释放和炉子耐火材料的腐蚀的风险的意外发生。
铁氧化物(以Fe2O3形式表示)在本发明组合物中一般是作为杂质存在的。Fe2O3含量氧化也低于1%,优选地低于或等于0.5%,不会严重损害丝的颜色和纤维化设备操作,特别是对在炉中的传热的损害。
优选地,这些玻璃丝是含有下述组分的组合物,其组分在下面以重量百分数表示的确定范围之内:
特别有利地,该组合物的Al2O3/(Al2O3+CaO+MgO)重量比在0.40-0.44之间,优选地低于或等于0.42,这样能够得到液相线温度低于或等于1250℃,优选地低于或等于1210℃的玻璃。
一般而言,本发明的玻璃丝没有氧化硼B2O3和氟F2。
本发明的玻璃丝是从前面描述的组合物玻璃根据下述方法得到的:从一个或多个拉丝模底部多个孔流出的多条熔化玻璃细流,拉制成一层或多层的连续细丝层形式,然后将这些细丝汇集成一股或多股丝,再将它收集在移动的支撑件上。这些丝以成卷的形式收集时,该移动的支撑件可作为旋转支撑,或者当这些丝被同样用于拉制这些丝的工具截断时,或在这些丝被用于以形成衬垫的方式拉制玻璃丝的工具喷射时,该移动的支撑件可作为移动支撑。
任选地在进行其它转变操作后得到的丝,因此可能有不同的形状:连续丝或切短丝、织物、针织物、编织物、带或垫,这些丝是由直径约5-30微米的细丝组成的。
用于供给拉丝模的熔化玻璃由纯原料或更经常地由天然原料(即可能含有微量状态的杂质)而得到的,这些原料按照适当比例进行混合,然后进行熔化。以通常方式调节熔化玻璃的温度,以便能够纤维化并避免反玻璃化问题。在将它们以丝的形式被收集之前,这些细丝一般地用润滑油组合物进行涂布,目的在于保护它们防止磨损,还有利于它们后面与待增强的材料结合。
使用本发明丝得到的复合材料含有至少一种有机材料和/或至少一种无机材料和玻璃丝,至少一部分丝是本发明的丝。
具体实施方式
下面的实施例能够说明本发明而不限制本发明。
具有表1列出的以重量百分数表示的组成的熔化玻璃经拉制而得到由直径17μm玻璃细丝组成的玻璃丝。
将玻璃粘度等于103泊(分帕斯卡秒)的温度记为T(logη=3)。
将玻璃的液相线温度记为Tlquldus,该温度相应于在该玻璃中可能进行反玻璃化的最难熔相具有零生长速度的温度,并且因此相应于这种反玻璃化相的熔化温度。
已报告了由根据标准ASTMC1259-01测量的杨氏模量和采用Archimède法测量密度所计算的块状玻璃的比杨氏模量值(测量比杨氏模量),与使用借助于统计软件以现有数据为基础建立模型所计算(计算比杨氏模量)的块状玻璃的比杨氏模量值。明确指出,对块状玻璃所测量的比杨氏模量与由这同一玻璃细丝构成的一绺丝的比杨氏模量之间存在良好的相关性;因此,表1的值能够根据拉制后玻璃模量估算出机械性能。作为对比实施例给出不含有Li2O的玻璃(实施例6),US4199364的实施例5的玻璃(实施例7)和玻璃E与R的测量结果。
显然,本发明的实施例在这些熔化和拉制性质与这些机械性能之间达到极佳的折衷。这些拉制性能是特别有利的,尤其是液相线温度约1210℃,比玻璃R的液相线温度低得多。拉制范围是正的,尤其是T(logη=3)与Tlquldus之差大于50℃,可达到68℃。
使用本发明组合物所得到玻璃的比杨氏模量(实施例1-5)明显比玻璃E的比杨氏模量高,与玻璃R和无Li2O玻璃(实施例6)相比也有改进。
因此,使用本发明玻璃明显地达到了与玻璃R相比有明显的改进的机械性能,同时基本上降低纤维化温度,接近于玻璃E达到的值。
本发明的玻璃在三相中结晶。在液相线,该相是透辉石,它是更有利的,因为没有钙长石耐熔(实施例6)。透辉石的最大生长速度比实施例7玻璃的低,该玻璃的CaO/MgO比等于2.14(降低至少50%)。
本发明的玻璃丝比玻璃R的丝更经济,在某些应用,特别是航空应用中或在增强直升机桨叶或光缆时,它们可以有利地代替玻璃R的丝。
Claims (18)
2.根据权利要求1所述的增强玻璃丝,其中,所述组合物含有0.1-0.6重量%的Li2O。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的增强玻璃丝,其中,该组合物的SiO2+Al2O3含量高于70重量%。
4.根据权利要求3所述的增强玻璃丝,其中,该组合物的SiO2+Al2O3含量高于75重量%。
5.根据权利要求1、2和4中任一项权利要求所述的增强玻璃丝,其中,该组合物的Al2O3/(Al2O3+CaO+MgO)重量比是0.40-0.44。
6.根据权利要求5所述的增强玻璃丝,其中,该组合物的Al2O3/(Al2O3+CaO+MgO)重量比低于或等于0.42。
7.根据权利要求1所述的增强玻璃丝,其中,该组合物包含12-13.9wt%的CaO。
9.根据权利要求1所述的增强玻璃丝,其中,所述组合物不含有B2O3和F2。
10.根据权利要求1所述的增强玻璃丝,其中,所述组合物不含有B2O3。
11.根据权利要求1所述的增强玻璃丝,其中,所述组合物不含有F2。
12.由多个如权利要求1-11中任一项权利要求所限定的增强玻璃丝形成的集合,其中,该集合呈织物形式。
13.包含至少一种有机材料和无机材料与如权利要求1-11中任一项权利要求所限定的增强玻璃丝的复合材料。
15.根据权利要求14所述的玻璃组合物,其中,所述组合物含有0.1-0.6重量%的Li2O。
16.根据权利要求14所述的玻璃组合物,其中,所述玻璃组合物的成型范围(T(logη=3)-Tliquidus)高于50℃。
17.根据权利要求14-16中任一项权利要求所述的玻璃组合物,其中,该玻璃组合物包含12-13.9wt%的CaO。
