Detailed description of the invention
Figure 1A is the block diagram of the exemplary display system 100 comprising variable voltage source 140.Display image 100 includes address driver 120, data driver 110 and controller 130.Controller 130 reception shows the numerical data of the information shown system 100 shown.Data signal 134 is sent to data driver 110 by controller 130, sends scheduling signals 132 to address driver 120, and control signal 136 is sent to variable voltage source 140, to drive array of display to show indicated information.Display system 100 generally includes the array of display of the array with the pixel such as such as pixel 10 arranged with row and column.Array of display can include (such as, the passing through depositing operation) conducting element and/or the semiconductor element that are formed on display base plate, base plate for packaging (such as, glass) or assembled substrate. Each pixel is independently programmed, thus with the brightness value luminescence being independently programmed.Pel array thus include is suitable to dynamically show to the digital displaying data of controller 130 array of display (" display screen ") of information according to input. This display screen can show the video information of the such as video data stream that basis is received by controller 130.
For the ease of diagram, the display system 100 in Figure 1A illustrates single pixel 10.It should be appreciated that the display screen of the array including the similar pixels such as such as pixel 10 can be used to realize display system 100, and this display screen is not limited to the pixel of specific line number and columns.Such as, can use and have at the array of display for moving the multiple lines and multiple rows pixel commonly used in the display of equipment, television indicator, computer monitor and HUD (headsupdisplay) etc. to realize display system 100.
Pixel 10 is operated by including the drive circuit (" image element circuit ") of driving transistor and luminescent device.Hereinafter, pixel 10 can refer to image element circuit.Luminescent device can be arbitrary Organic Light Emitting Diode, but the image element circuit implementing to be applicable to include there is other electroluminescent device of current drive-type luminescent device of the present invention.Driving transistor in pixel 10 can be arbitrary n-type thin film transistor or p-type thin film transistor, but the enforcement of the present invention is not limited to have the image element circuit of the transistor of particular polarity or have the image element circuit of thin film transistor (TFT).
Pixel 10 is connected with selecting line the 122, first supply lines the 142, second supply lines 144, data wire 114 and monitoring line 112.Pixel 10 selects line 122 to be provided by address driver 120, and can be used to such as be allowed for by activation switch or transistor the programming operation of pixel 10, so that can be programmed by data wire 114.Programming information is transferred to pixel 10 from data driver 110 by data wire 114.Such as, program voltage or program current are applied to pixel 10 by availability data line 114.Program voltage/electric current is at such grade: such grade is enough to the capacitor in pixel 10 is charged such that the electric current to driving transistor to be operated flowing through luminescent device with transmission, thus to have the Intensity LEDs of desired amount of brightness. The program voltage (program current) supplied by data driver 110 by data wire 114 is usually by the relation represented with formula and/or by digital data value mapping to the look-up table of program voltage/current class and relevant to the numerical data that controller 130 receives.
Program voltage/program current can be applied to pixel 10 during the programming operation of pixel 10, so that the charge storage devices in the pixels 10 such as such as capacitor. After programming operation, pixel 10 can send the light of the amount with desired brightness during light emission operation.Such as, can to the charge storage devices in pixel 10 during programming operation, with during light emission operation to the more than one applying voltage driven in the gate terminal of transistor and/or source terminal.By the electric charge (" voltage ") in capacitor being applied to the grid and/or the source electrode that drive transistor, regulate the electrical conductivity driving transistor according to the I-E characteristic driving transistor, and electric current flows through luminescent device according to the voltage stored in the capacitor and is transmitted.
Generally, in the pixel 10, the driving electric current flowing through luminescent device being driven transistor to transmit during the light emission operation of pixel 10 is such electric current: the second supply lines 144 is supplied and flowed out to this electric current by the first supply lines 142.First supply lines 142 and the second supply lines 144 are connected with variable voltage source 140.First supply lines 142 can provide positive voltage (such as, be collectively referred to as the voltage of " Vdd " in circuit design), and the second supply lines 144 can provide negative supply voltage (such as, being collectively referred to as the voltage of " Vss " in circuit design). In some embodiments of the invention, one or another one in supply lines 142,144 are fixed in ground voltage or another reference voltage, and need not be connected to variable voltage source.
In some embodiments of the invention, variable voltage source 140 can according to carrying out the control signal 136 of self-controller 130 to the first supply lines 142, or the second supply lines 144, or both is adjusted.Such as, variable voltage source 140 can be passed through and regulate the value of positive voltage Vdd and/or the value of negative supply voltage Vss.Voltage on first supply lines 142 and the difference between the voltage on the second supply lines 144 affect the quantity of power obtained during the programming operation of pixel 10 by pixel 10.Generally, during the glow phase of pixel 10, the power needed for pixel 10 is proportional to (Vdd Vss) × Idrive, and Idrive is the foregoing driving electric current being transmitted through overdriving transistor and luminescent device here. Therefore, by reducing the difference between Vdd and Vss, it is possible to reduce the power driven needed for pixel 10.The difference (" Δ V ") that can apply between Vdd and the Vss of pixel 10 by regulating the voltage on the first supply lines 142 and/or the second supply lines 144 to control.
Figure 1B shows the circuit diagram of the exemplary pixels circuit of the electric pressure putting on transistor 152 and luminescent device 154.For the ease of diagram, the image element circuit in Figure 1B is set to illustrate only being connected in series between driving transistor 152 and luminescent device 154 between both supply lines 142 and supply lines 144.Generally, image element circuit 10 shown in Figure 1A can include n-type or p-type drives transistor, and it is arranged to the layout of extra transistor and/or the capacitor being selectively connected to data wire 114, to be used for electrical conductivity pixel 10 being programmed according to voltage-programming information and/or current programmed information and charging the one or more capacitors in image element circuit affect driving transistor.
In the exemplary arrangement shown in Figure 1B, drive transistor 152 be connected on High Voltage Power Supply line 142(" Vdd line ") and luminescent device 154 between.Such as, drive transistor 152 can have drain electrode and source electrode, and drive the drain electrode of transistor 152 can be connected to High Voltage Power Supply line 142, drive the source electrode of transistor 152 can be connected to luminescent device 154.Luminescent device 154 is connected to driving transistor 152 and low voltage power supply line 144(" Vss line ") between.Such as, luminescent device 154 can have positive pole and negative pole, and the positive pole of luminescent device 154 can be connected to driving transistor 152, and the negative pole of luminescent device 154 can be connected to low voltage power supply line 144.The gate terminal driving transistor 152 is connected with storage capacitor 156.The grid that storage capacitor 156 is provided for driving transistor 152 applies voltage, the electrical conductivity driving transistor 152 is affected so that the electric current being transmitted by storing the voltage on capacitor 156 to control via driving transistor 152 to flow through luminescent device 154 with this.Storage capacitor 156 is illustrated as being connected to ground voltage, but, alternately, storage capacitor 156 can be connected to the one in the positive terminal of luminescent device 154, power voltage supply line 142,144 or another one, reference voltage and/or enough make storage capacitor 156 be electrically charged according to programming information and apply a voltage to drive transistor thus affecting other burning voltage of the electrical conductivity driving transistor 152.
Figure 1B also includes the figure illustrating the voltage putting on power voltage supply line 142,144 image element circuit between the two.Total voltage difference between power voltage supply line 142 and the power voltage supply line 144 supplied by variable voltage source 140 is by (Vddsupply–Vsssupply=Δ V, or Δ VTOTAL) provide, Vdd heresupplyAnd VsssupplyIt is the voltage from variable voltage source output on supply lines 142,144.At image element circuit place, the voltage on power voltage supply line 142,144 is typically due to the resistive circuit loss between variable voltage source 140 and the image element circuit that is powered and reduces/increase.Therefore, the voltage on the Vdd line 142 of image element circuit place shown in Figure 1B is Vddsupply(VddIRDrop).Similarly, the voltage on the Vss circuit 144 of image element circuit place shown in Figure 1B is Vsssupply(VssIRRise)." IRDrop " and " IRRise " refers to the voltage caused by resistive circuit loss, and " I " refers to the electric current on circuit here, and " R " refers to line resistance. The voltage putting on luminescent device (selectively, it is possible to be OLED) is shown as VOLED。VOLEDValue generally depend on the characteristic of luminescent device 154, the aging history of luminescent device 154 and/or the electric current flowing through luminescent device 154 and being transmitted. In some instances, VOLEDValue can along with increase large-drive-current (such as, the brightness increased) and increase, and can by it be compensated by above-mentioned increase measurement and/or prediction, above-mentioned measurement and/or prediction are measuring or carrying out for the aging deterioration (agingdegradation) of prediction is mapped to the standardization look-up table of use history/log file based on what store in memorizer 116 according to monitoring system 115.
Put on and drive the voltage of transistor 152 to be illustrated as VDS, V hereDSCan refer to put on " Drain-Source " voltage driving transistor 152.In certain embodiments, magnitude of voltage (such as, the dram-source voltage V of transistor is put onDS) enough make driving transistor 152 be maintained at the saturation mode of operation, because the amount of the electric current being transmitted through transistor when saturated is basically independent on the voltage putting on transistor.Such as, V is worked asDS>VGSDuring Vth, drive transistor 152 can operate in saturation mode, V hereGSBeing drive the voltage between the gate terminal of transistor 152 and source terminal, Vth is the threshold voltage driving transistor 152.Therefore, transistor 152 will be driven to be maintained at the V needed for saturation modeDSValue depend on VGSValue and threshold voltage Vth.Owing to driving the current weigher of transistor 152, the value of Vth is likely to time to time change. It is similar to above for VOLEDDiscussion, in time the value of Vth can be compensated according to based on such as monitoring the measurement that system 115 carries out and/or measured value and/or the predictive value being stored in look-up table that is in memorizer 116 and that map to use record/history.At VDSValue more than by when driving transistor 152 to be set in saturation mode required value, overvoltage (that is, is still applied to drive the V of transistor 152DSPlussage) usually used as thermal dissipation drive transistor 152 channel region in.In some instances, heat production too much in channel region can disadvantageously result in the deterioration driving transistor 152, and therefore causes the aging of display system 100.
Therefore, in some instances, Vdd is selectedsupplyAnd/or VsssupplyValue with provide put on drive transistor 152 be enough to will drive transistor 152 voltage (such as, the voltage V that is set in saturation modeDS).Based in part on VddIRDrop, VssIRRise, VOLEDV is determined with the measured value of Vth and/or predictive valueDSDesirable value.Additionally or alternatively, because programming information affects VGSValue because the brightness of luminescent device 154 is generally with to flow through the electric current driving transistor 152 relevant, and the electric current flowing through driving transistor 152 is subject to V at least in partGSRegulate, so determining V based in part on the programming information for image element circuitDSDesirable value.Such as, can according to relations IDS=β (VGSVth)2Set and flow through the electric current (" I driving transistorDS"), β characterizes the variable of the I-E characteristic driving transistor 152 and can include driving the grid oxic horizon of transistor 152, aspect ratio and mobility etc. here. Therefore, V is determined based in part on the brightness exported from image element circuitGSValue, and therefore determine V based in part on the programming information for image element circuitGSValue.
In some embodiments of the invention, controller 130 analyzes the numerical data of the brightness value of indication display to determine the amount for regulating the voltage on the first supply lines 142 and/or the second supply lines 144 so that the pixel in array of display will have enough power to produce required brightness. In certain embodiments, controller 130 analyzes the numerical data for the pixel in display and/or measurement, storage and/or prediction deterioration information (such as VOLEDValue etc. with Vth), and regulate the voltage on the first supply lines 142 and/or the second supply lines 144 so that the pixel in display is individually set in saturation. In some instances, controller 130 can analyze the numerical data of input to determine the Δ V required in saturation mode by each pixel placement in display system 100TOTALValue, and be then able to according to Δ V required in the display of each frameTOTALMaximum set the value of Vdd and/or Vss of variable voltage source 140 supply.Δ V is set by the maximum desirable value of the maximum desirable value according to each frame rather than all framesTOTALValue, put on the magnitude of voltage of each pixel and can be not more than magnitude of voltage required on a frame-by-frame basis.Additionally, because pixel is all set in saturation, the electric current flowing through pixel is unaffected, so the typically not reduction of brightness.Set because of being the product according to the electric current putting on the voltage of each pixel and flow through each pixel by the power of display floater, so reducing voltage to also reduce power consumption (and also reducing the heat production driven in transistor channel region).
Advantageously, controller 130 can be arranged for the best size of the difference (" Δ V ") calculated between Vdd and Vss, make, while the brightness value providing enough power to specify by input data with generation to pixel, to reduce the power consumed by display system 100 as much as possible. When display system 100 shows video, dynamically (such as on a frame-by-frame basis) can determine voltage on the first supply lines 142 and/or the second supply lines 144 is provided in controller 130.Controller 130 can pass through analysis and enter data to select the offer desired voltage on supply lines 142,144 to determine from the maximum brightness value that display sends.Controller 130 can also calculate the total accumulated current caused by all pixels in display, to determine the total load loading on variable voltage source 140 during particular frame.
The expectation voltage that controller 130 provides via supply lines 142,144 by using formula and/or look-up table to select. Can pass through first to calculate optimum voltage (such as, the optimal level of Δ V) and complete the selection of expectation voltage. In some instances, variable voltage source 140 can be arranged for provides the output voltage (such as, with the separated series of voltage of the resolution of the driver of variable voltage source 140) being in a series of predetermined voltage class.Controller 130 can by choosing at random Δ V by the one or both adjustment in supply lines 142,144 to predetermined levelTOTALImmediate usable levels. In some instances, controller 130 selects the predetermined level of supply lines 142,144 to select the Δ V in the optimal value determinedTOTALSecondary peak. Also by judging that based on digital input data the greatest hope brightness value of total load and/or the display obtained by display is above or lower than trigger value group still in the scope specified by trigger value, controller 130 complete the selection of expectation voltage.Trigger value group or the scope being specified between trigger value may correspond to the specific voltage provided by variable voltage source 140.
Within system 100, for providing the supply lines 142,144 of supply voltage to be connected with variable voltage source 140 to the pixel in display. The each supply lines being connected to variable voltage source 140 can be arranged so that the pixel in the colleague mutually (or row) of every power supply alignment display provides supply voltage along the row (or row) of display. The pixel that can also be embodied as in the adjacent lines (or row) making the shown device of every supply lines shares.
In the realization of display system 100 comprising monitoring system 115, pixel 10 is also connected with monitoring line 112.Pixel 10 is connected to monitoring system 115 by monitoring line 112.Monitoring system 115 can be integrated with data driver 110, can be maybe the autonomous system separated.Especially, monitoring system 115 optionally can be realized by the electric current and/or voltage monitoring data wire 114 during the policer operation of pixel 10.Furthermore, it is possible to realize display system 100 when not monitoring system 115 or monitoring line 112.Monitoring line 112 makes monitoring system 115 can measure the curtage being associated with pixel 10 and thus extract the information of the deterioration showing pixel 10.Such as, monitoring system 115 can extract the electric current of the driving transistor (such as, driving transistor 152) flowing through in pixel 10 and thus based on the electric current measured and the drift determining threshold voltage or the threshold voltage driving transistor based on applying during measuring to the voltage driving transistor via monitoring line 112.Monitoring system 115 can also be extracted the operation voltage of luminescent device and (such as, such as put on the V of luminescent device 154OLEDPressure drop Deng just putting on luminescent device when light emission operation at luminescent device).Monitoring system 115 subsequently signal 134 can be conveyed to controller 130 and/or memorizer 116 so that display system 100 can to the deterioration compensation for information extracted in the follow-up programming of pixel 10 and/or light emission operation.Such as, once be extracted deterioration information, can suitably regulate, during the follow-up programming of pixel 10 and/or light emission operation, the programming information being sent to pixel 10 via data wire 114 so that pixel 10 sends the light of the amount with the expectation brightness unrelated with the deterioration of pixel 10.Especially it is noted that the present invention all can be implemented when using or do not use monitoring system 115.
Fig. 2 illustrates the display system 200 comprising variable voltage source 240, and variable voltage source 240 is for individually regulating the supply lines (such as, supply lines 241,242) of multiple subdivisions (such as, subdivision 211 to 216) of display 210.Display system 200 also includes for receiving numerical data 232 and for controlling the controller 230 of variable voltage source 240 by control signal 234.Being similar in some respects in conjunction with Figure 1A display illustrated, display 210 generally includes pel array, and described pixel is independently programmed, thus luminous with the brightness value being independently programmed according to the information indicated by numerical data 232.But, display 210 and previously described display are different in that display 210 includes discontinuous multiple subdivision.Display 210 includes the first subdivision the 211, second subdivision the 212, the 3rd subdivision the 213, the 4th subdivision the 214, the 5th subdivision 215 and the 6th subdivision 216.Subdivision 211 to 216 can be supplied with supply voltage different from each other.Such as, the first subdivision 211 is supplied with the first supply voltage Vdd via the first supply lines 2411, the second subdivision 212 is supplied with second source voltage Vdd via the second supply lines 2422, the 6th subdivision 216 is supplied with the 6th supply voltage Vdd via the 6th supply lines 2436.Similarly, although do not illustrate respectively, remaining subdivision 213 to 215 is supplied with the supply voltage Vdd that can control respectively respectively via respective supply lines3、Vdd4And Vdd5.Supply lines (such as, supply lines 241,242 ... 243) corresponding to each subdivision 211 to 216 connects with variable voltage source 240 and the terminal (such as, for terminal 211a and the 211b of the first subdivision 211) of subdivision that is each connected to respectively.Variable voltage source 240 is arranged for individually and provides different supply voltages simultaneously to each subdivision 211 to 216.
The supply lines 142 and 144 of the first supply lines 241 in Fig. 2 and the second supply lines 242 and the Pixel-level (pixel-level) shown in Figure 1A is relevant, but is different from the supply lines 142 and 144 of the Pixel-level (pixel-level) shown in Figure 1A.Especially, the first supply lines 241 and the second supply lines 242 are the conducting wires that the entirety (that is, each subdivision) of each several part by display 210 is connected to be suitable for each supply voltage of part.It is similar to the supply lines 142 and 144 shown in Fig. 1, first circuit 241 and the second circuit 242 can be electrically connected to multiple single line (" power rail (powerrail) ") respectively, and multiple single lines are connected with the single pixel in respective subdivision 211 to 216 subsequently.
The connection between the multiple single lines in the first supply lines 241 and the first subdivision 211 is symbolically illustrated by the first terminal 211a and the second terminal 211b.The first terminal 211a provides the abutment between multiple power rails or the positive voltage supply lines of the pixel being connected in the first subdivision 211.Second terminal 211b also provides the abutment between multiple power rails of the pixel being connected in the first subdivision 211, but provide from the side contrary with the side with the first terminal 211a of display 210.By the first supply lines 241 is connected to terminal 211a and 211b, it may be advantageous to reduce the impact of the pixel changed in subsections 211 of the supply voltage putting on subdivision 211.Therefore, in conjunction with Figure 1B VddIRDrop discussed impact in display system 200 less than impact in other systems. But, it is possible to realize display system 200 with the supply lines (such as, supply lines 241 and 242) of each in the subdivision 211 to 216 that is each connected to via single terminal rather than two terminals. Can by remaining subdivision 212 to 216 being connected to variable voltage source 240 with the terminal similar for terminal 211a and 211b illustrated for the first subdivision 211.Such as, terminal 212a and 212b can be passed through by second source voltage Vdd2It is sent to the power rail in the second subdivision 212, and terminal 216a and 216b can be passed through by the 6th supply voltage Vdd6It is sent to the power rail in the 6th subdivision 216.
In the operation of display system 200, controller 230 be suitable to receive numerical data 232 and based on numerical data 232(and optionally based on the measurement of display and/or the deterioration information of prediction) determine the appropriate voltage that extremely each subdivision 211 to 216 is provided.Controller 230 sends control signal 234 to indicate variable voltage source 240 to supply suitable voltage to subdivision 211 to 216 with rear to variable voltage source 240.Controller 230 can by with the operation to controller 130 and variable voltage source 140 in conjunction with Figure 1A illustrate similar in the way of determine the suitable supply voltage of each subdivision, and can include calculating the use of the maximum brightness value of each subdivision 211 to 216, total payload of each subdivision 211 to 216 and threshold values and/or scope for selecting suitable voltage.Additionally or alternatively, controller 230 can determine the electric pressure required in saturation mode by the pixel placement in each subdivision 211 to 216.Compared with the display system 100 in Figure 1A, the controller 230 in Fig. 2 can individually determine the appropriate voltage of each subdivision being provided in multiple subdivision 211 to 216.In addition, can dynamically determine that the appropriate voltage that will provide for subdivision 211 to 216 is provided to the supply voltage of the subdivision of display 210 with real-time adjustment, and can determine that the appropriate voltage that will provide for subdivision 211 to 216 is to regulate the supply voltage of each frame for video signal. The realization of the present invention also allows for regulating the supply voltage being provided to each subdivision less than the frequency of the frame frequency of video signal.Such as, display system 200 enables to the supply voltage being provided to subdivision 211 and is being fixed in identical grade by plural successive frame at video before again regulating.
The subdivision 211 to 216 of display 210 may be additionally referred to as region or the part of display. In certain embodiments, subdivision 211 to 216 can be nonoverlapping subdivision. In the representative configuration shown in Fig. 2, subdivision 211 to 216 crosses over the width of display 210.But the aspect of the present invention is applicable to the display that subdivision comprises less than the width of display.Additionally, the aspect of the present invention is applicable to the display at subdivision erratically or unevenly interval.Such as, the subdivision of display can be laid out such that each subdivision display area corresponding to each feature of display graphic user interface of display.User the subdivision that (" selection ") separates can be highlighted, so that such as can handle the menu being associated with this graphic user interface according to the input of user.By controlling the power of each subdivision (such as, position 211 to 216) in such display respectively, it is possible to according to being select each subdivision so that it brightens or cancels selected so that it dimmed changes supply voltage to each subdivision.Such as, as shown in conjunction with Fig. 5, for being suitable to the display on the mobile equipment of display Email and graphical menu option etc., each subdivision of display can address respectively, to regulate the power acquired by (" selected ") subdivision being highlighted of display.
Although additionally, with reference to each subdivision adjustment positive voltage (such as, the Vdd to display 2101And Vdd2Deng) illustrating Fig. 2, it should be appreciated that can pass through to regulate negative supply voltage (such as supply voltage Vss1And Vss2Deng) or realize display system 200 by the positive voltage and negative supply voltage regulating each subdivision 211 to 216 of display 210.
Fig. 3 A illustrates the flow chart of the illustrative methods of operation display when reducing the power consumption of display. For exemplary purposes, the flow chart of Fig. 3 A is described with reference to Fig. 2.Controller 230 receives numerical data 232(310).Numerical data 232 indicates shown image on the display 210.The numerical data 232(320 corresponding to multiple first pixels received analyzed by controller 230).Multiple first pixels can be the pixel in such as subdivision 211, or can be the pixel in whole display 210.Controller 230 is subsequently based on analyzed numerical data and selects to be applied to the supply voltage (330) of multiple first pixel. As previously mentioned, can based on the scope of the brightness value of the pixel in display, based on the maximum of such brightness value and/or minima, based on transistor being driven to be set in voltage required in saturation mode and/or based on the selection that the total expection accumulation load being acquired to supply desired brightness value carries out suitable supply voltage, and can by using look-up table, threshold values and/or formula perform the selection of above-mentioned suitable supply voltage.Control signal 234 is sent to variable voltage source 240 by controller 230 subsequently so that the supply voltage (340) that variable voltage source 240 selects to multiple first pixel supplies.
Fig. 3 B illustrates the flow chart of the another exemplary method of operation display.Except multiple (n) subdivision of display 210 is performed frame 320,330 and 340, the flow chart in Fig. 3 B is similar to the flow chart in Fig. 3 A.Each subdivision includes multiple pixel. Therefore, except analyzing the numerical data (320) corresponding to multiple first pixels received, controller 230 also analyzes receive with the numbering of the subdivision in the display that just operated of basis and the corresponding numerical data of additional multiple pixels.Such as, with reference to the display 210 in Fig. 2, the second to the 6th subdivision (212 to 216) outside the first subdivision 211 is analyzed the numerical data received. For general display, by the numerical data (320n) that each subdivision analysis of display is received by multiple n-th pixels.Similarly, select supply voltage to apply each subdivision (330n) to display by multiple n-th pixels, and by multiple n-th pixels by each supply voltage supply of selection to subdivision (340n) each in display.
Fig. 4 illustrates the flow chart of the another illustrative methods of operation display.Determine whether display runs (410) in idle mode.If display runs in idle mode, then identify and be set in idle mode secretly set fixed display part (" subdivision ") (420).It is then shut off the supply voltage (430) of the identified part of display.Close the pixel that the supply voltage of the identified part of display prevents electric current to be transmitted through in identified part.Additionally, the programming operation (440) of the identified part of display can be stopped. The programming operation stopped in identified part advantageously prevents display to obtain power in programming process. When not stopping programming operation, during every frame energy be usually dissipated in: each row is addressed, and provides program voltage or program current so that the storage device in each pixel is charged to such level by data driver: preventions is driven transistor turns so that cannot luminescence.Additionally, for the embodiment comprising monitoring system (such as the monitoring system 115 shown in Figure 1A), compensation and policer operation during the monitoring and/or compensating operation of display typically require and obtain extra power. In such realization comprising monitoring system, during the idle pulley of display, advantageously stop the monitoring being set as secretly setting fixed identified part to display and compensate function.Once stopped the programming of identified part to display, monitoring and/or compensating operation, carry out off and on inquiring about to verify whether display keeps in idle mode (410).
