Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer neuen quaternären Ammoniumverbindung. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einer neuen quaternären Ammoniumverbindung ge langt, wenn man Laurylmerkaptan mit Chlor methyl-p-chloräthyläther und darauf mit Pyridin behandelt.
Die quaternäre Ammoniumverbindung stellt eine feste, farblose Masse dar, die von Wasser zu einer klaren, beim Schütteln schäu menden Lösung aufgenommen wird. Das neue Produkt kann als Tegtilhilfsstoff verwendet werden.
Beispiel: Man erwärmt 1 Gewichtsteil Laurylmer- kaptan mit 0,7 Gewichtsteilen Chlormethyl- @-chloräthyläther während etwa '/z Stunde auf 50-55 , dann während etwa 4 Stunden auf<B>80-850.</B> Das beim Abkühlen zu einer farblosen, kristallinischen Masse erstarrende Umsetzungsprodukt wird in 5 Volumteilen Pyridin gelöst und etwa 24 Stunden bei Zimmertemperatur stehen gelassen.
Durch Zusatz von Petroläther wird das neue quater- näre Salz, das aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach der Formel

entspricht, ausgefällt. Man erhält eine feste, farblose Masse, die in Wasser klar löslich ist und beim Schütteln stark schäumt.
