Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Kondensationsproduktes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem neuen Kondensationsprodukt gelangt, wenn man Stearinsäure-N-methylol-amid mit m- Benzoesäuresulfochlorid behandelt.
Das neue Kondensationsprodukt stellt eine fettige Masse dar, die von Wasser zu einer beim Schütteln schäumenden Lösung aufgenommen wird; diese Lösung wird beim Kochen oder bei Zusatz schwacher Alkalien in der Wärme unter Bildung unlöslicher Pro dukte zersetzt. Das neue Produkt kann als Textilhilfsstoff, insbesondere zum waschechten Wasserabstossendmachen von Textilien ver wendet werden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 14 Gewichtsteile Stearinsäure-N-metby.,ol- amid werden in 50 Volumteilen Pyridin gelöst. Unter Rühren werden bei<B>70-80'</B> 13 Gewichtsteile m-Benzoesäure-sulfochlorid eingetragen. Nach einstündigem Rühren bei der angegebenen Temperatur wird das Pyri- din unter vermindertem Druck abdestilliert, wobei das neue Kondensationsprodukt als eine fettige Masse, die in warmem, schwach angesäuertem Wasser unter Bildung stark schäumender Lösungen löslich ist, zurück bleibt.
Die wässerige Lösung zersetzt sich beim Kochen oder bei Zusatz von schwachen Alkalien in der Wärme, wobei unlösliche Zersetzungsprodukte abgeschieden werden.
Process for the production of a new condensation product. It has been found that a new condensation product is obtained if stearic acid-N-methylol-amide is treated with m-benzoic acid sulfochloride.
The new condensation product is a greasy mass that is absorbed by water to form a foaming solution when shaken; this solution is decomposed when boiling or when adding weak alkalis in the heat with the formation of insoluble products. The new product can be used as a textile auxiliary, in particular for making textiles water-repellent.
<I> Example: </I> 14 parts by weight of stearic acid-N-metby., Olamide are dissolved in 50 parts by volume of pyridine. With stirring, 13 parts by weight of m-benzoic acid sulfochloride are added at 70-80. After stirring for one hour at the specified temperature, the pyridine is distilled off under reduced pressure, the new condensation product remaining as a fatty mass which is soluble in warm, slightly acidic water to form strongly foaming solutions.
The aqueous solution decomposes when it is boiled or when weak alkalis are added in the heat, whereby insoluble decomposition products are separated out.
