Description

  

  Verfahren zur Herstellung einer neuen     quaternären        Ammoniumverbindung.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einer  neuen     quaternären        Ammoniumverbindung    ge  langt, wenn man     Chloressigsäure-N-methylol-          amid    mit einem     Stearinsäurehalogenid    und       Pyridin    behandelt.  



  Die     quaternäre        Ammoniumverbindung    stellt  eine feste Masse dar, die von Wasser zu einer  beim Schütteln schäumenden     Lösung    aufge  nommen wird. Das neue Produkt kann als       Textilhilfsstoff,    insbesondere zum waschech  ten Weichmachen von Textilien verwendet  werden.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  Man lässt 20 Gewichtsteile     Stearinsäure-          chlorid    allmählich in eine Mischung von 7,1  Gewichtsteilen     N-Methylolchloracetamid    und  von 30 Gewichtsteilen trockenem     Pyridin     unter Kühlung     hinzutropfen.    Man rührt etwa  18 Stunden bei Zimmertemperatur und dar  auf etwa 6 Stunden bei 35-40  . Die ent  standene     Pyridiniumverbindung    wird mit  Äther ausgefällt, von der Mutterlauge ge-    trennt und bei niedriger Temperatur ge  trocknet. Man erhält eine farblose feste  Masse, die von Wasser zu einer beim     Scbüt-          teln    schäumenden Lösung aufgenommen wird.

    Dieses     Pyridiniumchlorid    eignet sich insbe  sondere zum Weichmachen von     Viskosekunst-          seide.  



  Process for the preparation of a new quaternary ammonium compound. It has been found that a new quaternary ammonium compound is obtained if chloroacetic acid-N-methylolamide is treated with a stearic acid halide and pyridine.



  The quaternary ammonium compound is a solid mass that is taken up by water to form a foaming solution when shaken. The new product can be used as a textile auxiliary, in particular for washable softening of textiles.



  <I> Example: </I> 20 parts by weight of stearic acid chloride are gradually added dropwise to a mixture of 7.1 parts by weight of N-methylolchloroacetamide and 30 parts by weight of dry pyridine with cooling. The mixture is stirred for about 18 hours at room temperature and then for about 6 hours at 35-40. The resulting pyridinium compound is precipitated with ether, separated from the mother liquor and dried at low temperature. A colorless solid mass is obtained which is taken up by water to form a solution which foams when shaken.

    This pyridinium chloride is particularly suitable for softening viscose artificial silk.

PATENTANSPR U'CH Verfahren zur Herstellueg einer neuen quaternären Ammoniumverbindung, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man Chloressigsäure-N- methylolamid mit einem Stearinsäurehalo- genid und Pyridin behandelt. Die neue quaternäre Ammoniumverbin- dung stellt eine feste Masse dar, die von Wasser zu einer beim Schütteln Schäumen den Lösung aufgenommen wird.
