Description
Process for the production of a new chlorine-containing dye of the dibenzanthrone series. It has been found that a new chlorine-containing dye of the dibenzanthrone series is obtained, which claims importance both as a dye itself and as an intermediate product if formaldehyde is allowed to act on the Bz2, Bz2'-diogydibenzantbron formaldehyde in the presence of chlorosulfonic acid.
The new dye, which contains about 10% chlorine, is a blue powder, dissolves red-violet in concentrated sulfuric acid, vents with a red-blue color and dyes cotton in real blue tones.
<I> Example: </I> 50 parts of p-formaldehyde are gradually introduced into 270 parts of chlorosulfonic acid at 70 to <B> 80 '</B>, which dissolves with the development of hydrogen chloride. 30 parts of Bz2, Bz2'-diogydibenzanthrone (as it can be prepared, for example, according to DRP No. 259370) are added to this solution at the same temperature and stirring is continued at 70 to 80 'for about 3 hours . After cooling, the solution is poured into ice water, the purple precipitate is sucked off, washed neutral and dried.
