Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung einer halogenierten Arylthioglykolsäure. Vorliegendes Patent bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Darstellung der bereits be kannten 1 .2.4-Trichlorbenzol-5-thioglykol- säure der Formel:

dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man auf 1.2.4- Trichlorbenzol Chlorsulfonsäure bei Tempe raturen unter 100 einwirken lässt, das so erhaltene 1.2.4-Trichlorbenzol-5-sulfochlorid zum Merkaptan reduziert und letzteres mit Monochloressigsäure kondensiert.
Die so erhaltene 1.2.4-Trichlorbenzol- 5-thioglykolsäure schmilz in reinem Zustand bei<B>113'.</B> Das Produkt soll als Zwischen produkt zur Herstellung von Farbstoffen Ver wendung finden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 182 kg 1. 2. 4-Trichlorbenzol vom Schmelz punkt<B>170</B> (vergl. Beilstein, 4. Aufl., V., 204) werden in analoger Weise, wie im Beispiel des Zusatzpatentes Nr. 138760 zum Haupt patent Nr.<B>131360</B> beschrieben, in das 1.2.4- Trichlorbenzol-5-sulfochlorid übergeführt. Das erhaltene Sulfochlorid wird dann bei etwa <B>500</B> zusammen mit 250 kg Zinkstaub in ein Gemisch von 250 kg Schwefelsäure<B>66"</B> B6 und 2000 Liter - Wasser eingetragen, die Temperatur allmählich auf<B>1000</B> gesteigert und die lasse etwa fünf Stunden unter Rühren bei dieser Temperatur gehalten.
Das beim Erkalten ausgeschiedene 1. 2. 4-Trichlor- benzol-5-merkaptan wird abfiltriert und bei etwa 50 in 520 kg Natronlauge 33 B6, die mit 2000 Liter Wasser verdünnt sind, eingetragen und mit 100 kg Monochloressig- säure versetzt. Man hält die Masse noch etwa eine Stunde bei dieser Temperatur und lässt erkalten.
Das ausgeschiedene schwer lösliche Natronsalz der so gebildeten 1.2.4- Trichlorbenzol - 5 - thioglykolsäure wird zur Reinigung aus heissem Wasser umgelöst und aus dem vom ungelösten abfiltrierten Filtrat mit Säuren die freie Säure gefällt.

characterized in that chlorosulfonic acid is allowed to act on 1.2.4-trichlorobenzene at temperatures below 100, the 1.2.4-trichlorobenzene-5-sulfochloride thus obtained is reduced to mercaptan and the latter is condensed with monochloroacetic acid.
The 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene-5-thioglycolic acid obtained in this way melts in the pure state at <B> 113 '. </B> The product is intended to be used as an intermediate product for the production of dyes.
<I> Example: </I> 182 kg 1. 2. 4-Trichlorobenzene with a melting point <B> 170 </B> (see Beilstein, 4th ed., V., 204) are processed in an analogous manner to in the example of the additional patent no. 138760 to the main patent no. <B> 131360 </B>, converted into 1.2.4-trichlorobenzene-5-sulfochloride. The sulfochloride obtained is then introduced at about 500 together with 250 kg of zinc dust into a mixture of 250 kg of 66 "B6 sulfuric acid and 2000 liters of water, the temperature gradually increasing to <B > 1000 </B> and the let held for about five hours with stirring at this temperature.
The 1, 2, 4-trichlorobenzene-5-mercaptan which separates out on cooling is filtered off and added at about 50 to 520 kg of 33 B6 sodium hydroxide solution diluted with 2000 liters of water, and 100 kg of monochloroacetic acid are added. The mass is kept at this temperature for about an hour and left to cool.
The separated, sparingly soluble sodium salt of the 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene-5-thioglycolic acid formed in this way is redissolved from hot water for purification and the free acid is precipitated from the undissolved filtrate which has been filtered off from the undissolved filtrate.
