In a preferred modality (10), dispersion energizes the bins of a large fast Fourier transform (FFT). Point to Multipoint and Multipoint to Multipoint network topologies (without nodes) are possible. A code cancellation method is included for interference cancellation and improved signal separation by exploring the spectral diversity of the various sources (11). The basic system (10) can be extended to include methods of nullifying the array of multi-element antennas (26, 18) also for interference cancellation and improved signal separation using spatial separation. Such methods allow for direct and retrodirectional transmission systems that adapt or can be adapted to the radio environment. Such systems are compatible with the higher order modulation and on-demand bandwidth formats and use advanced non-dispersion adaptation algorithms (maximum SINR).
