Abstract
"INFRAESTRUTURA DISTRIBUìDA PARA COMUNICAçõES DE DADOS SEM FIO". Um terminal de usuário móvel (402) acessa uma rede de dados em pacote (450) através de um ou mais dos vários pontos de acesso à rede (404 a 412). Um ou mais dos pontos de controle 432 a 440 determina qual ponto de acesso à rede ou pontos o terminal de usuário deve acessar. O controle pode ser retido no ponto de controle atual, ou transferido para outro ponto de controle, toda vez que for conveniente. Existem preferivelmente vários direcionadores, cada um possuindo um agente doméstico associado (418 a 420) que determina quais os agentes estrangeiros precisam ser acessados em nome de cada terminal de usuário. Existem vários agentes estrangeiros (422 a 430), que enviam pacotes recebidos de um agente doméstico do terminal de usuário para o ponto de controle que está atualmente controlando as comunicações com o terminal de usuário.
