Abstract

"LADRILHO DE TAPETE ORTOGONALMENTE AMBìGUO". Ladrilhos de tapete possuindo padrões e esquemas de cores que previnem a necessidade de orientar os ladrilhos em relação um ao outro. Os ladrilhos exibem ambig³idade ortogonal, significando que eles podem ser dispostos em qualquer orientação lado a lado com respeito aos ladrilhos adjacentes sem parecer fora do lugar para o observador comum e desse modo ainda alcançado uma aparência de continuidade como o tapete feito em tear largo. Cada ladrilho possui padrões de formatos possuindo alguns lados retos e que parecem ser aleatoriamente posicionados mas orientados com alguns lados retos paralelos aos lados do ladrilho de tapete. Os formatos são formados a partir de uma cor ou de uma combinação de cores de modo que formatos adjacentes em cada ladrilho possuem pelo menos uma cor em comum. Adicionalmente, cada ladrilho possui pelo menos uma cor em comum com cada outro ladrilho, de modo que quando os ladrilhos são dispostos, as cores nos ladrilhos adjacentes se coordenam. Todas as cores possuem intensidades similares, de modo que nenhuma cor irá de forma significativa sobressair das outras cores. Além disso, pelo fato do padrão em cada ladrilho parecer aleatório, a colocação dos ladrilhos no piso em qualquer orientação lado a lado simplesmente cria um padrão maior, aparentemente aleatório, tornando impossível para qualquer ladrilho parecer fora do lugar.
