Abstract
"SISTEMA E MéTODO PARA A DETECçãO DA MARGEM DE COBERTURA EM UM DISPOSITIVO DE COMUNICAçãO SEM FIO". Um método para intensificar o desempenho de um telefone móvel de modo dual ou de banda dual inclui, depois que o telefone tenha se conectado inicialmente a uma rede sem fio CDMA, a monitoração (304) de um nível de potência total recebida pelo telefone. Esse nível de potência é comparado (304) com um nível limiar pré-ajustado (C). Se o nível de potência permanecer abaixo do nível limiar durante dois segundos (308, 312), o telefone de modo dual ou de banda dual se comuta (314) para uma rede AMPS ou outra rede recuperada a partir da lista de roaming preferido, que está armazenada no telefone. Se o nível de potência estiver acima do limiar, o telefone se move para o estado ocioso (402). Uma vez no estado ocioso, tanto a intensidade piloto quanto a Indicação de Intensidade de Sinal Recebido são monitoradas (404). Se esses dois níveis estiverem abaixo dos respectivos limiares durante oito segundos (408, 412), o telefone se comuta (414) para outra rede armazenada na lista de roaming preferido.
