Abstract

"REDUçãO DE PICOS EM UM SINAL CDMA". A invenção consiste de uma tecnologia de eliminação de cristas ("decresting") CDMA que reduz ou elimina picos no sinal CDMA. A tecnologia CDMA gera um sinal de correção em resposta a picos no sinal CDMA que superem um valor. O valor corresponde tipicamente ao nível máximo de potência de um amplificador de potência. A tecnologia CDMA combina o sinal de correção com o sinal CDMA para gerar um sinal CDMA sem cristas (515) com picos reduzidos. Em alguns exemplos da invenção, a tecnologia CDMA processa representações em coordenadas polares dos componentes de quadratura do sinal CDMP, para gerar o sinal de correção. Pelo uso da invenção, o amplificador de potência (625) em uma estação base CDMA pode (512) operar em níveis de potência maiores sem superar as limitações de sinal fora de banda. Como resultado, a estação base opera mais eficientemente e com um maior alcance ou capacidade.
