Abstract

In a process for forming a window frame, either hinged or of sash type, from reinforced synthetic material, a profiled reinforcing material preferably metallic is placed in a mould cavity using distance pieces, the mould space around the reinforcement is then filled with liquid synthetic material which is subsequently expanded to fill the mould and hardened. The frame may be moulded in two or more separate sections joined to each other by suitable corner elements united by jointless connections. The mould closing device may be used for ejection. The preferred material is a polyurethane foam. The frames have high resistance, stability and insulation.
