Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  Basket u. like. Braided woven or knitted goods.

   For braiding, for example, baskets of various shapes, such as are generally known as gallantry and consumer goods, types of straw and cane are used in particular. have sufficient rigidity in and of themselves to give the manufactured object adequate resistance so that it retains its shape. The interweaving of such materials is associated with greater expenditure of time and labor due to the rigidity. Furthermore, the material is only available in limited lengths, so that the braiding of the ends requires greater effort and care, but also gives rise to blemishes.

   The aim of the invention is to replace the usual braiding material with a cheap, flexible material that is available in any length. primarily to enable paper splits in that the object is first fully braided or otherwise manufactured from the supple paper splits and then provided with another coating that increases the rigidity by painting or providing it. This allows the object to be given the desired color when using colored lacquers.

   For example, copal lacquers, zapon lacquers, shellac solutions and the like can be used for painting. Like. Be used, which receive the desired color additive ..

   The woven goods are either dipped into the lacquer or coated with it and then balanced in shape, with Henkel u. The like. At best supported by cardboard strips, templates or similar aids.

   The goods are now left to dry upright, which gives them the necessary strength.

   The finished product, which cannot be distinguished from the usual wickerwork, is characterized by its great durability and also offers sufficient resistance to the influence of water, so that it can be considered a full replacement for pipe material.
