Wooden roof covered with cement.
The present invention relates to devices on wooden roofs with cement cover, which have a permanent and firm connection of the cement cover to the wooden boarding for the purpose. Essentially, these consist in roughening the boards and making holes in them before they are nailed to the battens. The roughening must be carried out in such a way that the chips formed remain in contact with the wood. The cement used can generally be of any consistency, but when producing the cement cover, care must be taken that the cement properly penetrates the holes or the grooves created by the roughening.
FIGS. 1 and 2 illustrate a roof made according to the process described.
The boards 1 are provided with holes 2 and are roughened on the surface coming into contact with the cement by means of appropriate tools, so that the chips 3 protrude above the surface.
Shingle roofs can also be provided with a cement coating in a similar way; thin transverse strips 4 (Fig. 3) are nailed onto the shingles and treated in the same way as previously described. It is of course also possible to increase the strength of the roofs by inserting wire meshes into the cement.
