The growth of 5G mobile systems necessitates a shift in image processing. The required processing time, as well as the amount of space for uploading and downloading, represent these modifications. In this study, an image compression method based on WT (Wavelet Transform), LM-SPIHT (Listless-Modified Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Tree) coding, and an additional level of Runlength encoding is proposed. The SPIHT algorithm can be applied to both grey-scale and colored images. SPIHT displays exceptional characteristics over several properties like good image quality, fast coding and decoding, a fully progressive bit stream, application in lossless compression, error protection and ability to code for exact bit rate. Internet voting system can be a viable alternative for conducting an election and such a voting system must provide the same level of security as ordinary paper based elections. This paper deals with designing, building and testing an Iraqi internet voting system based on open list election where voters have some influence on the order in which a party's candidates are elected. This online voting system is highly secured, and its design is very simple, ease of use and also reliable. It also creates and manages voting and election details as all the voters must login by inserting their verified information and password, then select their favorable candidates to vote for. This will lead to increasing the voting percentage in Iraq. The system is designed using several programming languages such as (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, MySQL).

Providing simple and low complexity algorithms for estimating the direction of arrival in large systems using Massive MIMO is considered an important issue. In this paper a method with reduced complexity was proposed to estimate the direction of arrival in FD-MMIMO. The Separated Steering Matrix (SSM) algorithm uses two separated equations for estimating elevation and azimuth angles of Multi-users. This method reduces the complexity of calculating the covariance matrix by decreasing the size of this matrix. This technique is tested using 2D-MUSIC algorithm. Since the mobility of devices affects the accuracy of direction estimation, thus the effect of the initial phase of transmitted signal from mobile device is tested.

This paper presents an approach to license plate localization and recognition. A proposed method is designed to control the opening of door gate based on the recognition of the license plates number in Iraq. In general the system consists of four stages; Image capturing, License plate cropping, character segmentation and character recognition. In the first stage, the vehicle photo is taken fromstandard camera placed on the door gate with a specific distance from the front of vehicle to be processed by our system. Then, the detection method searches for the matching of the license plate in the image with a standard plate. The segmentation stage is performed by is using edge detection. Then character recognition, done by comparing with template standard numbers and letters used in the Iraqi plate. The system was implemented using Matlab (R2012a) and shows accurate performance results reached 93.33%.

Sparse code multiple access (SCMA) is one of the Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) that attracts many researchers for its promising future uses in 5G systems. In this paper, a Computer Generated-Sparse Code Multiple Access (CG-SCMA) is proposed. CG-SCMA generates a complex SCMA codebook that maximizes the Minimum Euclidian Distance (MinED) of 16-point star-QAM. This codebook is generated using computer program to specify the most appropriate values for this constellation. Then Trellis Coded Modulation (TCM) is used to divide the constellation into four sub constellations to maximize MinED.  The new codebook reaches MinED for four sub constellations {3.46, 2.16, 2.16, 3.46} and achieves increment over SCMA codebook based 16-point star-QAM by 10.1%. With the high speed of communication in LTE-5G, fast beamforming techniques need to be adopted. The training time required to form and steer the main lobes toward 5G multiple users must be short. Least-Mean-Square (LMS) training time is not suitable to work with in LTE-5G, but it has a good performance in forming multiple beams to large number of users and producing nulls in the interference direction. In this paper, an optimized hybrid MVDR-LMS beamforming algorithm is proposed to reduce the time required to estimate the antenna’s weights. This optimization is made by the benefit of previously set weights calculated using MVDR algorithms. The performance of the proposed hybrid MVDR-LMS algorithm tested using MATLAB 2016a.
