Twin Peaks: The Return 2017
Hi, all
I've finally written my second piece on Medium, this time about Twin Peaks and it being the greatest piece of television ever. Had a lot of fun watching it all, and also writing on it. This piece is less an analytical critique or examination of the franchise, and more so me expressing my admiration for it. Again, if you're interested at all, it would be very much appreciated if you'd give it a read.
Thanks, and cheerio :))

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me 1992
I have many thoughts and many feelings, but I honestly have not nearly as much to say. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me has been on my backlog for about 2 years now. I had the intention of watching it after rewatching the original series, which I absolutely love (and is the answer I generally give when asked, "what's your favourite TV show?"). However, this plan was delayed constantly, due to my procrastination, mind you, and…

Night Games 1966
A mélange—ranging from Bergman to Buñuel, with some debauched hints of Pasolini and Waters (the latter of whom had named it one of his favourites), and the psychosexual tangs of Jung and Freud—Mai Zetterling's Night Games is an uncomfortably confronting yet incisive examination of one man's being. Equal parts perverse, campy, psychological, and farcical, the film comments on the…

Bride of Frankenstein 1935
How to surpass the predecessor 101, James Whale's sequel to his 1931 classic, Bride of Frankenstein ups just about every ante. Where Whale's adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein certainly stands tall as one of, if not the principal horror film of its time, his follow-up equally expands and enhances the scale, frights, and tragedies that etched itself in the first place. The set decoration and production design are made fuller, the purely gothic grandiosity of it…

The Batman 2022
I always had faith. I didn't expect a masterpiece or the greatest comic book movie ever made. I expected a freshly stylised take on Batman, with great performances and atmosphere, and that's what we got. Nitpicks and minor flaws aside, I'm glad that my faith was not let down.
Long live Battinson.
