This is because there is nothing good about the mass killings of the poor, weak and vulnerable, who have been historically ‘unable to breathe’ because of the actions and inactions of citizens. There is nothing normal about a fossil fuel-driven economic pathway that has not only led to huge environmental degradation but pushed the nation to the unenviable position of being among the 10 countries with the worst air quality globally(Global Air Report published by the Health Effects Institute (HEI)(2016). In addition to having the highest burden of the fatalities from air pollution in Africa and the 4 globally (WHO), Christian Rural and Urban Development Association of Nigeria(CRUDAN) Partners, Yusuf Turaki Foundation, Nigeria Fellowship of Evangelicals (NEF), and Jos Green Centre and Tearfund Nigeria seizing the huge opportunities in the context of current COVID-19 draws from the Church’s huge spiritual and human infrastructure to deliver the Nigeria Green Papers'.edit

The Nigeria Green Papers as a template for national renewal is a collection of 12 (twelve) key papers spanning the breadth of issues that have challenged the nation on its path to nationhood and contributed in pushing the nation to the brink. We believe that this intervention will seek to contribute to building the foundations of the nation’s economic and social system with a view to having a fairer, sustainable, and resilient future reflected in enhanced social justice, reduced inequality, reduced poverty, and reduced social crisis.
