Objective: The aim of present study was Analyzing the Perspectives of Instagram Followers of Iranian Public Libraries about Users` engagement and Features of pages` Content. Methodology: The study was conducted with a quantitative approach and survey method. The research community included followers of Instagram pages of Iranian public libraries. out of 602 of the research population (the followers of Iran's public libraries pages), 235 followers were selected as the research sample using Krejcie and Morgan table. Data was collected through a questionnaire. Participants' responses to the questionnaire were analyzed using SPSS and descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings: The results showed that the majority of participants in the study believe that receiving information about library events and news and being aware of library resources are the most important motivations for them to follow the Instagram pages of public libraries in Iran. The major source of research and experimental development funding in Australian higher education is general university, or institutional, funding, and such funds are not subject to national funder open access policies. Thus, institutional policies and other institutional supports for open access are important in understanding Australia’s OA position. هدف: پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی حضور آموزش نرم افزارهای مدیریت استناد در وب گاه‌های دانشگاه‌های دولتی ایران انجام شد.روش: روش پژوهش توصیفی است و برای گردآوری داده‌ها از سیاهه وارسی محقق ساخته استفاده شده است. جامعه آماری شامل وب گاه 80 دانشگاه جامع دولتی و صنعتی ایران بود.یافته‌ها: یافته ها نشان می دهد بیش از نیمی از وب گاه‌های دانشگاه‌های مورد بررسی به نرم افزارهای مدیریت استناد اشاره نکرده اند. در بیشتر دانشگاه‌ها، اندنوت تنها نرم افزار مدیریت استناد مورد استفاده و آموزش بوده است. در کمتر از نیمی از دانشگاه‌ها، آموزش نرم افزار مدیریت استناد توسط کتابخانه مرکزی انجام شده است و در سایر موارد، معاونت پژوهشی و دانشکده‌ها و انجمن های دانشجویی عهده دار این امر بوده اند. بجز 11 دانشگاه، آموزش نرم افزارهای مدیریت استناد به صورت منظم و همیشگی در کتابخانه های دانشگاهی انجام نمی‌شود. آموزش ها فقط به صورت کارگاه های حضوری بوده اند و از انواع آموزش مثل راهنماهای آنلاین متنی و صوتی و تصویری غفلت شده است.نتیجه‌گیری: کتابخانه های دانشگاهی نقش کمرنگی در آموزش نرم افزارهای مدیریت استناد دارند. برای ای...

Knowledge management (KM) is a multi-dimensional field of study and practice, which requires a wide range of capabilities amongst its contributors, who come from a variety of professional groups. This paper examines claims that the Library and Information Services (LIS) profession should make and, indeed, is making a significant contribution to organizational knowledge management. It outlines KM knowledge and skills and reviews the major barriers to LIS engagement in KM: the professions focus on external information resources, as distinct from internal organizational knowledge assets; lack of business knowledge; content ignorance; an image problem; a name problem; lack of visibility in the corporate environment; personality issues; and relative lack of the required management skills. The paper concludes with some suggested directions for LIS practitioners, educators and researchers. The present paper is the result of a research which aimed to review the current level of support and training provided for the reference management software (also known as citation management tools) by academic libraries. The data was gathered on the basis of a survey of Iranian universities’ websites. The results revealed that in about 50 percent of Iranian universities, there is no information about reference management software at their websites at all. In less than half of the remaining 39 universities, central library is responsible for introducing and training of citations and reference management software. Research deputies and faculty scholarly associations have been other organizers of reference management software training. Furthermore, the results show that more than 90 percent of universities perform their training in face to face format only. Purpose – The purpose of the present paper is to investigate the familiarity and use of reference management software (RMS) by library and information science (LIS) faculties in Iran, and aims to identify the possible factors that lead to the application and choice of this software. Design/methodology/approach – This is a descriptive survey. Data collected by a Web-based questionnaire include both open-ended and multiple-choice questions. The questionnaires were distributed among LIS discussion groups and were sent to the e-mails of LIS faculties. Findings – Results reveal that over half of the respondents had a good familiarity with the various citation software packages and knew how to use them; 35 per cent of respondents have learned how to use these packages through formal education. “Endnote” is the most popular software among respondents. PurposeThis paper aims to discuss the applications of knowledge management (KM) for library practice.Design/methodology/approachThe paper starts by reviewing the relevant literature and then the results of an empirical study which investigated the perceptions of LIS community on the relevance of KM to libraries. Charles Sturt University uses a learning management system called “Interact” with multiple tools including wiki, synchronous chat, group mail, announcement and media repositories that support virtual team work. There are many adult learners in distance education. This paper explores distance education student experience and feedbacks in using e-learning technologies for online collaborative group assignment in real life. In a subject “Information and Knowledge Management in Organizations”, international and local students were grouped together for their group assignments. Each group undertook a case study project in which they proposed solutions for identified problems in their chosen organizations. Students worked as virtual teams in completing their case study assignment. Each group was provided with a private project site in Interact. Students developed their assignment in wiki and used various tools for communication and storage of documents. An anonymous web-based survey was conducted after students completed the group assessment. This research reports student perceptions on a wide range of factors including technology use and working with students from a different country and challenges they faced in their online group assessment. The findings indicate that e-learning technology plays a significantly useful role in facilitating student collaborative learning activities in group assignments. It also highlights challenges and barriers that need attention when conducting online distance education group assessments.

Objective: The aim of present study was analyzing the perspectives of Instagram followers of Iranian public libraries about users' engagement and features of pages' content. Methodology: The study was conducted with a quantitative approach and survey method. The research popultion included the followers of Instagram pages of Iranian public libraries. From 602 of the research population (the followers of Iran's public libraries pages), 235 followers were selected as the research sample using Krejcie and Morgan's table. Data were collected through a questionnaire. Participants' responses to the questionnaire were analyzed using SPSS and descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings: The results showed that the majority of participants in this study believe that receiving information about library events and news and being aware of library resources are the most important motivations for them to follow the Instagram pages of public libraries in Iran. Respondents considered library posts in Instagram relatively good and had a mediocre view of their own engagement with library posts. The relationship between user engagement and motivation, membership duration and age of users variables is significant and direct, and the relationship between user engagement variable and membership variable is significant and inverse. In other words, the relationship between user motivation and their engagement has been significant and direct, so that the more motivated users have more engagement. However, the relationship between membership and engagement has been reversed, meaning that people who were not members of public libraries were more likely to participate in the Instagram pages of

از سال 2000 بدنبال نظریه "مکان سوم" الدنبرگ، کتابخانه‌ها به عنوان مکانی برای تعاملات اجتماعی مطرح شده‌‌اند. کتابخانه‌ها با ایجاد فضاهایی دلپذیر و دوستانه برای گردهمایی‌ها می‌توانند کارکردهای خود را گسترش داده و به محلی برای اشتراک دانش، آموزش عموم جامعه، کاهش شکاف دیجیتالی و ...تبدیل شوند. بقای کتابخانه‌ها در پاسخ به تغییرات اجتماعی است و نگاه به کتابخانه به عنوان یک مکان برای تعامل اجتماعی، پاسخ به نیاز جامعه امروز است. جامعه‌ای که در آن شبکه‌ها و رسانه‌های اجتماعی ارتباط حضوری را به حداقل رسانده‌اند، خانواده‌ها تک فرزند شده‌اند، سالمندان، تنهاتر از همیشه و آلزایمر بیداد می‌کند. این مقاله نگاهی دارد بر نقش کتابخانه به عنوان "مکان" و ضرورت ایفای نقش "مکانی" در کتابخانه‌های عمومی ایران را برمی‌شمارد.
