1,2,3 Student 4,5 Assistant Professor 1,2,3,4,5 Department of Civil Engineering 1,2,3,4,5 Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering, Visnagar, Gujarat, India Abstract— Road transportation is undoubtedly the lifeline of the nation and its development is a crucial concern. The traditional bituminous pavements and their needs for continuous maintenance and rehabilitation operations points towards the scope for cement concrete pavements. There are several advantages of cement concrete pavements over bituminous pavements. But, there are also some problems outcomes with concrete pavement like micro-shrinkage, cracking, and low water permeability. To overcome this kind of problems, the secondary construction material “Recron-3S” is preferable to add in concrete for making stronger and batter road pavement. Present paper focuses how the compressive and flexural strength of the Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) increases using Recron-3S fiber with compression test of the concrete. The testing r...

Public transit plays a vital role in economic development for access to the commuters/ travelers to the city centers of metropolitan cities of developing countries. Accessibility of public transit system is a prime factor faced by developing countries due to the lack of feeder services. Therefore, an attempt to improve the feeder services (with different modes i.e. as walking, bicycle, mini bus) is major importance. The present research focuses on new innovative ideas of bicycle as feeder mode with its three services i.e. Exclusive Bicycle Lane, Bicycle operation in mixed traffic with park & ride facility and Bicycle Sharing Service for Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) corridor of Ahmedabad city. The multinomial logit model was applied to develop the models. The findings from the study revealed that as income increases the preference to BMT-PR service increases over BSS and EBL service for their commuting purpose. The observations of age distribution shows with increase in age, the choice of EBL service over BSS and decrease BMT-PR service over BSS. Gender wise distribution indicated that preference to EBL service as well as BMT-PR service are higher among male groups compared with female groups. The observation of the study revealed that with increase in travel time, the respondents are more preferring BSS service over both EBL service and BMT-PR service. Same as travel distance increases will be more preference of BSS over EBL service and BMT-PR service by commuters. The output of this research can be extremely useful to increase ridership of public transit by integrating feeder service.

With increase in city size and population in developing country like India, the travel demand is increasing very fast which calls for an efficient and effective transit to fulfill the demand of travelling public. The transit accessibility is one of the most alarming factors of the increased urbanized areas of these cities. The case study presented the spatial transit accessibility index modeling with due consideration factors viz. walking distance and walking time of the study area. The spatial accessibility is measured on the basis of home interview data and as well on GIS base to develop " Accessibility Catchments " through buffering process for different accessibility scales of radius of 250m, 350m etc. The catchment areas marked provide the scope to identify " Accessibility Thirst Areas ". The research work further addresses the development of proposed LOS for both distance and time units. The transit accessibility index modeling and proposed LOS of the present study shows the promising results and can apply to the same sized urban cities. These findings presented in the paper are case specific and can be apply as a base for finding the spatial accessibility status for metropolitan cities.

Public transportation is one of the most important component of urban transport system, particularly in pace of rapid urbanization in Ahmedabad city. Today in the city, the utilization of Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) is increasingly day by day looking for cost effective transit solutions and for environmental concerns. But the problems facing by the users to use this system are poor accessibility status. For effective planning, it is quite essential to understand the degree of accessibility of BRTS. BRTS accessibility can be considered as one of the vital factor to integrate the land use and bus route network system to promote the public transit system. The present paper focuses on measurement of walking accessibility of BRTS taking one route name as RTO to Memnagar as a case study.

Now a day, the traffic congestion is the major problems of our country India. The urbanization of Indian cities increasing and also the vehicle registration of that cities are increasing which is results in increase of the traffic congestion, For the present study, Savala Junction of Visnagar city is selected as a case study which is facing major problems viz. traffic due to uneven vehicle flow, uneven parking, no traffic signals, encroachments etc. and due to this problems time consumption of road users and accidental rate is high. The analysis of the present study junction is carried out from the collected data of videography. The aim of the study is to control the traffic congestion at the Savala junction and to provide the safety to the peoples.

For effective public transportation planning, it is quite essential to understand the degree of accessibility status to work out the deficiency in the road or bus route network. The measurement of transit accessibility and availability are important both for forecasting transit ridership and for planning and evaluating transit service. Accessibility has been regarded a property of people indicating how easily they can reach a set of potential destination. While measuring transit accessibility, both spatial
and time dimensions in terms of walking distances, walking and waiting duration are important parameters to patronize the
transit riders. The present paper focuses on measurement of transit accessibility for small study area of Adajan area of Surat city considering two major bus routes through the area.

Bicycle Transportation is vital for sustainable movements in urban area, as it helps to improve mobility, air quality, reduce congestion, and conserve fuel. Today, transportation systems in most of our cities are no longer sustainable and that is the cause of worry for the planners. Therefore promoting bicycle transportation as major part of Non Motor Vehicle system (NMV) gains due importance in both traffic planning and operation stages. Present paper aims to examine the possible solution to back up the bicycle system and provide policy guidelines to promote such system in urban areas with the focus on movement on lower hierarchical urban roads to provide sustainable transportation. It provides strategies to tilt the travel shift to bicycle usage on tertiary and secondary road of urban areas through proper integration of land use and transportation planning.
