>>94335179i get that using contested rolls can help with that, but sometimes just the scenario is the current problem and i got the feeling that just spending one Willpower with a okish dice pool like 4 can get you off most situations. My least physical player avoided a dangerous trap dodging it just spending one willpower and not botching, maybe i'm thinking this the wrong way, but it feels kinda off.
>>94335226Are you trying to run the game like D&D? That's not going to work, especially with Mage. There are some early VtM dungeons about diablerizing elders, but even Werewolf is a pretty social game.
>>94335259No, but when the players try to sneak their way into a mad vampire haven to get something and find some nasty traps, i expected my frail Mind mage to at least get some strays for resorting to "trust me bro, let's just go ahead without planing".It was fun and all, the majority of situations are the social conflict, but that felt wrong and with no challenge for the fuck up.
>>94335267Well, he had to spend Willpower. And the Vampire should have used lethal traps.
>>94335292maybe is just me need to mentally adjust, but the draining a willpower felt neglectable and the situation was not that dangerous.I even used the a nasty weapon profile to be dangerous to represent the trap, with a set difficulty of 8, i seemed appropriate, going further than that feels oppressive and not "realistic", but maybe it's exactly what i needed to make the tension at the moment just right. At least in the "game" part.

For how many minis does citadel chaos black primer work?It is eypensive but when I get a few hundred minis primed, it is worth it
>>94335297It depends on how thick you spray it on. If you think it's expensive, just buy a cheaper spray.
>>94335297It depends on what you're using it for. rattle cans are hugely inefficient and 80% of the paint will go to waste. If you're just using it to blast squads of minis to give a decent coat and better chance of paint sticking then it's fine, but if you're trying to get 100% coverage, or painting individual, or small numbers of models, it's kind of a waste. But it's still probably a good option. The hobby rattle cans are unironically better than hardware stores ones, unfortunately the price reflects it - though some automotive primers are cheap and good, just test first.
>>94335304Extra thick for calculation sake, if I spray lots in a reasonable manner, very roughly how many minis, 10, 50, 100?>If you think it's expensive, just buy a cheaper spray.I want to be in good favor of my local games workshop so they give me the free mini without begging, because I can always say/think "Look, I left money here"

What is some interesting surface level deep lore on the wh40k universe?
Captain Titus kinda looks like Sam Neil because he's somehow related to Dr. Weir. I don't think him and his wife had kids before she died so he's probably a great, great, etc grandnephew or something. Or maybe Weir had kids from a previous relationship that he may not have known about.
The Krieg Civil War was so bad that only one single person survived and the entire Death Korp are clones of him.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to TSR-era D&D, derived systems, and compatible content.Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons as played in the game's first decade—less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching meta-plots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome! >>94334714>If demand is 0 then the value is zeroNo, the value is unknown, not zero. It has potential value, but its value cannot be ascertained until you locate someone who's interested. Only if you have the information that shows literally nobody exists who wants it (virtually impossible) can you say with confidence that the value is 0.

>>94335288>they can imagine a hypothetical personWho are you talking about? Because I'm saying unless you can ask everyone on the planet, you can't know that the value is actually zero. I'm poor, do any of you just do paper stand ins? where do you get them from? I'm striking out on finding good sci fi dudes, but found tons of furries
Are pill bases really that useful? Everyone seems to use them. Or the new GW cav bases.
>>94334585Moonstone has a complete set and free rules. I learned to play, early on, with them. (Bought into Leshavult, completely) Kings of war can be played with cardboard blocks of the right size with the words "goblins" or "eleven archers" on it. Toy soldiers could be used for any number of Osprey-type games. Don't forget just how good, and cheap, historicals are.
>>94334585Paper standies are legitimately kino. It is really cool to have whole armies you can fit in a folder. With the exception of dice you could fit everything you need for a half a dozen people to play in a single file organizer.

>>94330645It's the fact they style themselves as preservationists when in reality they're just recasters with extra steps that gets my goat. Either your goal is to keep the models available in which case they should be provided free or at worst, at-cost, or you're doing it to earn money and so deserve no more respect or protection from sharing than anyone else. The only reason they can get away with it is the people in the community who're most active about getting into new social platforms when they pop up and getting groups running(which they encourage members of existing groups on other platforms to join, making their groups the largest immediately and so drawing in subsequent users who don't know any better) are the guys who've spent huge sums of money on their Oldhammer "collection" and are horrified at the prospect the "real" models(because half of them are morons who bought recasts and never even noticed) could lose value. Their whole hobby identity is bound up in them being some kind of elite priesthood of True Grogness, those who were willing to endure the great travails of oldentimes when Oldhammer meant trekking both ways uphill through a blizzard to buy little lumps of lead for 200 quid each from a shady bloke in a trenchcoat under a bridge or whatever. It's the same fate that befell the Titan Owners Group - a solid ~80% of the models at those meetups were recasts for the first few events, then the chill people who had set it up stepped aside and got replaced by Muh Official zealots who went from a simple don't ask don't tell policy to demanding you provide certified authentication of original purchase or provenance of secondhand models like they're fucking Sothebys or something. I hate those kinds of assholes, people who're more concerned with protecting their own elevated opinions of themselves and their delusional notions of status than they are with the community flourishing.
>>94330645Oh and further, they're not just doing it to protect the work and investment of the scanners from freeloading pirates either, because in the past they've banned people for going out and doing their own scans with blackjack and hookers and then trying to share them for free. They're a price fixing cartel and nothing more.
>>94333511>>94333547It's definitely about profit. I agree the moralfagging is pretty annoying. It's whatever. Eventually all of the major ranges scanned will be leaked somehow, somewhere and then the cat's out of the bag. You can't stuff it back in.You can find plenty to make an Oldhammer army shared around in these groups now.The piracy-piracy hurts the little scanners more, who have to really work to sell their work. I'm sure the cabals are raking in a very large revenue every month; they really shouldn't be bothered when things slip out past their shelf date.

>>94331793>PolymorphI may be missing something but to me it looks like a minute duration spell that would mostly only be useful in combat. not even useful for travel. Its no Oasis that can make deserts and isolated tiny islands viable for outposts or Mud to Rock, or Rock to Mud or Wall of Stone that can create infrastructure in places that would be completely non-viable in real world and allow truly fantastical world-building.
>>94331960>(you)
So - Custom Spellbook anon here.I want to disincentivize the already shit tactic of healbotting. In my current draft >>94319168, Heal Wounds, (Transmutation (Healing)) forcibly repairs damage to the body, and heals hp at the rate of Cure Wounds. It has a 1 minute unleashing time; and thus (wand or no wand) you'll be incentivized to heal outside of combat.Recovery spells (based on Vigor) gives fast healing as per usual. I think it's fine out of combat, and obviates the need for another Out of Combat Cure Wounds spell. So here's my line of thought: Reworking Heal Wounds to be useful mid-combat, but make it something you *really* don't want to spam, such as having the recipient take a negative level or some ability damage a few minutes after the spell from the strain of having your organs and whatnot forcibly repaired. It would go away on it's own, yes, but if you take Heal Wound spells you'll be increasingly debilitated for a few days afterwards. And thus, if it's not an emergency, you want to use Recovery instead.Thoughts?
>>94332060>Thoughts?Why?
