Literature and the

Present World
ENGLISH CLASS
Let’s recall the poem, “The Inevitable
Day”.

• Are there modern-day

Faustuses? Cite situations in
modern times that remind you
of Faustus’ experience.
Today is the day that you can help
save a modern-day Faustus from
suffering the same old Faustus’
fate.
You will be grouped according to
your interests. The groups are:
Arts, Music, Writing, Dance, and
Theater.
Assuming that a modern-day
Faustus is right in front of the
class, each group will give
“message” to the character. This
will be done according to your
abilities.
Arts Group: The group will draw
a symbol or something that would
give an important message.
Music: They will render a song to
the character. The song should be
the message they want to give to
the character.
Writing: The group will write a
letter or poem addressed to the
character.
Theater: The group will present a
skit depicting the message they
would like to give to the
character.
Dance: The group will present
their message in the form of a
dance interpretation.
Having read the story of Dr.
Faustus, what have you
discovered about yourself?
Please be reminded that
the performance is
scheduled for next week
Monday.
Thank You
