Huawei 4G - CDR PS Fast Analyze

This document provides guidelines for analyzing 4G PS drop rates, which is measured by the E-RAB Drop Call Rate KPI. It gives the KPI formula, describes the relevant counters, and provides suggestions for optimization. Specifically, it recommends (1) identifying major causes of ERAB abnormal releases through performance counter analysis, (2) checking for issues like weak coverage, missing configurations or abnormal handovers that could cause radio-initiated drops, and (3) investigating possible faults causing transport network-initiated drops when abnormal releases are related to the transport network.

4G PS Drop Rate - (E-RAB Drop Call Rate (%))

Condition
Abnormal release caused by non-vendor equipment should be excluded.

KPI Formula
<L.E-RAB.AbnormRel> / (<L.E-RAB.AbnormRel> + <L.E-RAB.NormRel>) * 100%
Service drop rate indicate the network capability to retain services requested by end users for a desired duration once the
user is connected to the service.
The above counters only take into account the ERAB Abnormal Release initiated by eNodeB excluding the ERAB Abnormal
Release initiated by MME.
The ERAB Abnormal Release on the EPC side is measured by another set of counters, <L.E-RAB.AbnormRel.MME>.

Counter Description
<L.E-RAB.NormRel> measures the total number of ERABs release initiated by the eNodeB or MME.
<L.E-RAB.AbnormRel> measures the total number of activated eRABs abnormal release initiated by the eNodeB in a cell.

Optimization Suggestion
Performance Counter Analysis to classify the causes
Identify the major causes for ERAB abnormal releases.
In eRAN7.0, many new performance counters have been introduced, and the sub-failure causes can be
further categorized to ERAB VoIP service or not.
