Crochet Pattern – Twirling Toes Socks

©TheMailoDesign

You will need:

 Crochet hook (5mm, US – 8/H, UK - 6 )
 Recommended Yarn: any soft yarn you like that match yardage and
gauge, I used Stylecraft Special Aran
 Ball Size: 100g / 3.5 oz, 196 meters / 214 yards
 For Short socks, you will need approx 196 m / 214 yds, for Knee high –
400 m / 430 yds
Gauge using dc stitches:

15 st and 8 rows = 10 cm / 4 inch

Abbreviations in standard US terms:

Ch – chain

Dc – double crochet

Fpdc – front post double crochet

How to start socks video help - https://youtu.be/lsDMAV-NSTA

Work inside the ring:

3 ch (counts as a stitch in all rounds), 6 dc, finish with sl st

Round 2:

3ch, 1 fpdc around the same st, *1 dc, 1 fpdc around the same st, repeat
from * till the end of the rnd (total 12 st)
Round 3:

3 ch, 1 fpdc, *skip dc, (2 dc, 1fpdc) in fpdc from previous round, repeat from
* till the end of the rnd, finish with 1 dc, sl st (second pic) (total 18 st).

Round 4:

3 ch, 1 fpdc, skip 2 dc, (3 dc, 1fpdc) in fpdc from previous round, repeat
from * till the end of the rnd, finish with 2 dc, sl st (total 24 st).

Round 5:

3 ch, 1 fpdc, skip 3 dc, (3 dc, 1fpdc) in fpdc from previous round, repeat
from * till the end of the rnd, finish with 2 dc, sl st (total st).
Repeat Round 5 till your heel starts

Don’t forget to try a sock, if you feel that you need to make it wider then
make an increase, and repeat it till your heel starts.
Round with increase:

4 ch, 1 fpdc, *skip 3 dc, (3 dc, 1 ch, 1fpdc) in fpdc from previous round,
repeat from * till the end of the rnd, finish with 2 dc, sl st in 3rd ch.

When you reach the heel, make one more increase:

Round 1:

4 ch, 1 fpdc, * skip 3 dc, (3 dc, 1 ch) in the ch space from the previous row, 1
fpdc in fpdc below, skip 3 dc, (4 dc, 1 ch) in the ch space from the previous
row, 1 fpdc in fpdc below, repeat from * till the end of the round, finish
with 3 dc, sl st in 3rd ch.
Round 2:

4 ch, 1 fpdc, * skip 3 dc, (4 dc, 1 ch) in the ch space from the previous row, 1
fpdc in fpdc below, skip 4 dc, (4 dc, 1 ch) in the ch space from the previous
row, 1 fpdc in fpdc below, repeat from * till the end of the round, finish
with 3 dc, sl st in 3rd ch

Round 3:

4 ch, 1 fpdc, * skip 4 dc, (4 dc, 1 ch) in the ch space from the previous row, 1
fpdc in fpdc below, repeat from * till the end of the round, finish with 3 dc,
sl st in 3rd ch.

If you feel that you need sock wider, make increases as many as you need,
just add one more dc st, make 5 dc in ch space instead of 4dc.

If you feel that you need narrower, make decrease, make 3 dc in ch space
instead of 4 dc.

Repeat Round 3 till necessary sock length.
