Macrame Feathers

DIY Tutorial

These feathers look so cool and take no time at all to complete once you get the hang of it. You can use them as a single decor
piece! So cool in a minimalist way. Or, string them from a funky stick in your yard to make a boho wall hanging! Very earthy.
These are just really fun to make as well.

THINGS YOU’LL NEED

 Macrame Cord (4mm)

 Sharp Scissors

 Brush or comb

 Tape Measure

 Stiffening Spray (optional)

First, we’re gonna cut our cords. Keep your cords organized and separated by length.

31 total cords (or cords depending on your macrame leaf size.


Below is cut list for leaf with dimension 12” X 12” inch

 Spine cord 1 X 24″ inch (60 cm) piece (or length double the
length of the feather you want)

 Base area cords10 X 12″ inch (30 cm) pieces (or length of cord
equal to the breadth of the feather you want)

 Middle area cords10 X10″ (25 cm) pieces, (or length of cord
equal to breadth of the feather you want)

 Top area cords10 X 8″ (20 cm)pieces (or length of cord equal to the breadth of the feather you want)
You can also cut the other size if you plan to make feathers of different size, but please note most of the feathers are slightly
wider at the base and gets skinnier toward the top. So we start with the longest cords first, then go to our medium-sized cords
