3 Each question in section A carries six (06) marks while each question in section B carries ten (10)

5 All communicable devices and any unauthorized materials are not allowed in the examination

b) A fair coin is tossed and a fair six sided die is rolled. Find the probability of landing on head
side of the coin and rolling a 3 on the die.
4. a) The points (2, r), (v, 6) and (10, 10) are collinear with a gradient of 2. Find the value of r and
v.
b) A boat sails due North at a speed of 120 km per hour and a wind blows at a speed of 40km
per hour due East. Find the actual speed of the boat.
5. a) The exterior and interior angles of a regular polygon are in the ratio 2:4 respectively. Find
the number of sides of the polygon
b) A running truck is designed so that the length of four complete is 344. It has two parallel
straight sections of 150m each and two semi-circular ends. Find the distance between the
straight sections.
6. a) A frequency of radio signal varies inversely to the wavelength. A signal of frequency 2400
KHz, which might be the frequency of an FM radio station, has a wavelength 250m, what is
the frequency for a signal of wavelength 400m?
b) In a preparation of fanta orange drink, a bottling filling machine can fill 1,500 bottles in 45
minutes. How many bottles will it fill in hours?
