1.0 SYNOPSIS
This course discusses several techniques of data analysis in inferential statistics such as
parameter estimation, one sample test, independent sample test, paired sample test,
analysis of variance (ANOVA), Chi-square test, as well as correlation and regression
analysis. The course also covers the application of the techniques in various fields of
research and provides skills in analysing results from a statistical software output.
2.0 OBJECTIVES
After completing this course, students should be able to:
2.1 Describe the purpose and basis of several techniques in inferential statistics.
2.2 Apply the techniques in inferential statistics in various fields of research.
2.3 Infer the results of analysis with respect to the research problems.
3.0 LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the course, students are able to
3.1 Explain the concepts and techniques of data analysis in inferential statistics (C2, A3,
P2).
3.2 Analyze data using suitable statistical techniques in various fields of research (C4).
3.3 Interpret the results of the analysis of the statistical techniques with respect to related
problem in various fields (C5, A5).
