The Development of Personal Autonomy Essay
Independence or personal freedom is an aspect that most individuals seek in their lives. Although
some individuals may need the help of others in order to gain these features, others are already
endowed with autonomous thoughts and reflect it in their behavior. Deci Ryan (2009) claim that
autonomy is one of the basic and universal psychological needs that is necessary for the well being
and flourishing of all people. The development of autonomy comes in different forms for all people.
The research discussed throughout this paper will reveal and evaluate how autonomy develops in
individuals and whether showing autonomous behavior is positive or negative.

Autonomy

Persons who are employed in medical careers, like nursing, must display autonomous behavior
because it provides motivation for them to make decisions without requiring permission from
somebody (Senturan et al., 2012). On the other hand, those who display low levels of
autonomous behavior will often become submissive towards others and may show signs of
obedience when it comes to decision making and protecting their personal independence. These
people may be coerced into performing actions or behaviors that they would not normally do such
as a person who is an accomplice to a criminal act. I display high levels of autonomous behavior
due to the fact that I usually set goals for myself that require no help from others and after these
goals are complete, my sense of well being has increased tremendously.

Theoretical Perspective
Humanistic Perspective
The humanistic approach to psychology is an organization of different thoughts in which the interests
of humans and their values and/or beliefs are of main importance (Schultz Schultz, 2009). The term
humanistic relays the notion that all human beings have the potential for growth and that no one is
purposely bad or unworthy (Carver Scheier, 2012). In contrast to psychoanalytical psychologists,
humanistic psychologists tend to focus on the strengths of human behavior and not the aspects that
make an individual s
Narrative Vs Native American Culture
Narratives are inherently intimate in their expression. Especially in oral storytelling, this can be
seen by the immense control the storyteller has on the actual story. A storyteller can shape his own
story through his imagination, or he can mold a story he s heard to fit within his ideals. Good
storytellers can improvise, add and delete details of a narrativebased on the crowd he s telling it to,
and mold it into personalized experience. In this case, the narrative is influenced by both the
storyteller and the listener, and they can act as a border to contain the ideas presented in the
narrative. Even when the narrative is disparate from the reader, the reader still has immense control
over his overall narrative experience. A reader can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their cultural biases can affect how they look at a story and how they pose it to others. For example,
in the story Kochinnenako, the English version s structure version varies greatly from the Indian s
version. In the Native American s version, there is a focus on balance and harmony, in which the
plot is focused on the revival and maintenance of the harmony between summer and winter. The
structures of the sentences are short and simple, as the emphasis on description of events rather than
a subject and an object. Also the story doesn t linger long with any characters, highlighting the
coherence and importance as the tribe as a whole. This contrasts greatly from how the Western
version is told. Western individualism creeps into the plot. Now the protagonist becomes summer,
the antagonist becomes winter and the Kochinnenako becomes the plot. The plot revolves around
the fight between good and evil, good personified as the warm, embracing, and strong summer and
against the harsh, cold, and bitter winter. The plot also introduces a romantic aspect, where summer
saves Kochinnenako from winter, and breaks the marriage imposed by the tribe. The Western s
masculine individualistic view differs greatly from the feminine, socialistic view of the original
story, and greatly alters the

CHAPTER FOCUS POINTS

■ Organization of lodging

At a recent staff meeting, the general manager of The Times Hotel asked if anyone wanted to address
the group. The director of housekeeping indicated he was at a loss in trying to work with the front
desk clerks. He had repeatedly called the desk clerks last Tuesday to let them know that general
housecleaning would be performed on the seventh and eighth floors on Wednesday morning and that
they should not assign rooms on those floors to guests on Tuesday night. When the cleaning crew
came to work on Wednesday morning, they were faced with 14 occupied rooms on the ... Show more

Flexibility is the key to hospitality organization. At the operations level, familiarity with the staff s
strengths and weaknesses is essential to meeting the demands of the situation. When the property
experiences an expected slow period, regrouping may be necessary to maintain full time positions.
The front office manager may have to assist the marketing and sales office in advertising or hosting
tour directors for a specific weekend. The food and beverage director might have to spend some time
in the controller s office completing reports and developing budgets. This interdepartmental
cooperation provides the backdrop for a smooth running organization. Such flexibility prevents

jealousies and territoriality from becoming roadblocks to communication. The general manager
receives additional operational support from the director of security, the person who takes a
proactive role in establishing and maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees. Because
of the precautions necessary in delivering hospitality, the director of security is vital to the operation
of the lodging property.

Track Multi Target As Camera Motion Essay
MCMC particle filter

In this project, it is challenging issue to track multi target as camera motion is unknown. To deal
with this issue and targets occlusion, the camera parameters are calculated and targets were also
tracked within the 3D coordinates [W. Choi] at the same time. To be specific, it is aimed 1) to solve
the multi object tracking issue by using a single non calibrated camera, [W. Choi] 2). to deal with
complicated scenes in which multiple pedestrians are moving and occluding each other [W. Choi] at
the same time, 3). to calculate the 2D/3D trajectories within the camera reference system [W. Choi].

The important task in this project was to calculate camera parameters (such as camera pose and
focal length of a camera) and track objects such as pedestrians as they move in the scene [W.
Choi]. Tracks are helpful in calculating the parameters of a camera by using their velocity and scale
within the image plane; simultaneously, camera parameters can help to follow objects very robustly
as previous important information is available. This enables to calculate object 3D trajectories in
the reference system of a camera. The author used a simplified camera model which allows finding a
powerful compact relationship between the variables such as camera parameters and target, with the
help of projection constraints of a camera. The identification of a handful of feature tracks which
associated with the static background allows adding extra constraints to the camera
Unequal Students Problem
The issue of unequal rights for students is a persistent problem that is affecting the entire nation.
Years of studying the difficult topic has still been unsuccessful in finding a plausible solution.
However, some causes of this problem have been discovered. The toughest thing is to take action
and acknowledge. The causes of students being treating unfair in the classroom are racial stereotypes
and inability to properly train teachers to deal with special situations. This causes the problem of the
inequality within the classrooms across the nation that is steadily growing. Teachers, faculty, and
staff bring most of these issues to existence because of their common beliefs of minorities. They
believe that because someone is from a foreign country,
Literary Criticism Of Hester Prynne
Nathaniel Hawthorne s character, Hester Prynne, is known to be a controversial character,
garnering praise and criticism alike. Literary critic D.H. Lawrence, in particular, challenges
Hawthorne s portrayal of the character, contending that Prynne is a character of sin and is deserving
of perdition. In his essay, On The Scarlet Letter, Lawrence critiques the way Hester Prynne is
depicted through various literary techniques, such as terse syntax, scriptural allusions, and an
overall satirical tone. The choppy and abrupt way in which Lawrence arranges and words his
sentences displays his clear opposition towards the portrayal of Hester Prynne, and serves to directly
jab at Hawthorne s delivery. Lawrence s syntax is set up in a way that is intentionally brusque to
communicate pithy criticism, in that he accentuates certain words and phrases to represent Hester as
an adulteress. Alpha. Abel, Adam. A. America. The Scarlet Letter (Lawrence). These compendious,
single worded remarks are blunt attacks at Hester s character. Hawthorne s depiction of Hester is
challenged with these direct jabs and labels, and Lawrence is able to articulate his evaluation of the
character through this sharp, emphatic syntax. Further denouncing Hawthorne s characterization of
Hester, Lawrence describes Hester s sinful nature as the human spirit, fixed in a lie, adhering to a lie,
giving itself perpetually the lie (Lawrence). Again, through choppy and accented syntax, Lawrence
highlights the
The Time Of The End
To understand the end time, or the end of this present age as we know it, you must first
understand that in the Bible the time of the end spans from the book of Genesis to the book of
Revelation. Since it is often difficult for most people to find the time to study the Bible from cover
to cover, it will be my job to highlight one of the most important threshold moments of the end time
era for your understanding, and let that serve as a quick reference to knowledge that you so
desperately need. Time is of the essence! In Last Call for The Church, you will get a truly unique
understanding of the Raptureas it applies to a collective body of believers, referred to in the Bibleas a
bride, or better known as the church. Every effort has been made to presentprecept upon precept from
the viewpoint of a Pre Tribulation Rapture.

Let me begin by saying, I did not want to write this book. I pleaded with God for five years to
please find someone else to give this call to the church. I begged Him just like Moses did, please
find someone else, someone more qualified than me, someone who speaks better than me,
(Exodus 4:13 NIV). I was clearly having my very own burning bush moment with God. I was
denying my calling by coming up with every excuse possible, and I knew it! God had caught my
attention, and He might as well have been speaking to me from a burning bush. It was just that
unreal! I mean, I saw it in the spirit; I heard it in the spirit; and I just could not believe
To What Extent Should Major League Baseball Games Be...
Should major league baseball games be shorter or longer? In my opinion they should become
shorter like 7 innings instead of 9. The average postseason game of 2016 was 3 ⅕ hours that is
way too long in game 2 of the world series it lasted 4 hours and 4 minutes without going into extra
innings. Rob Manfred the owner of the MLB is aware of the trend of long games, he knows baseballs
pace of game.

The MLB should make games shorter by making a rule where managers can make pitching changes
only 2 times an inning. Major league baseball is losing fans because the game has way too many
breaks if baseball was non stop action like soccer or tennis the league would keep more fans. In 2015
the average major league baseball game was 2 hours 56 minutes
