I had originally considered Python as a programming langauge, due to the breadth of libraries of
all kinds. This led me to consider Theano and Caffe as potential neural network libraries. Caffe is
written in C++, with interfaces for Python and MATLAB. However, it seemed to be targeted mostly
towards deep learning networks, with a focus on image processing, and this made it seem quite
complicated for the type of neural network I would be considering. Theano is written in Python, and
has a large amount of documentation and functionality. If I were to have used
Python, I would have likely used Theano, as it provides a large amount of functionality directly
accessible from Python, whereas to extend
Caffe could require modifications to the C++ source. Ultimately, due to the decision to use Java (a
choice explored further in §[language]
Language below), I decided to use the Neuroph framework. Unfortunately there is less choice of
neural network libraries in Java, but given my prior experience with it, it is an easier language to
program in.
Neuroph provided a simple view of Neurons and Connections comprising a
NeuralNetwork, upon which I could extend. This simpler view would
Vladek And His Father s Experiences In Maus By Art Spiegelman
In Maus, a graphic novel by Art Spiegelman, Spigelman uses a combination of flashbacks to
illustrate his father s experiences in the holocaust in the form of a graphic novel. Spiegelman
describes his father s present day life and their interactions, to give the reader a view of a holocaust
survivor s life: before, during, and after the holocaust. Art and his father, Vladek, are the two
protagonists of the comic and each chapter begins and ends with Art s experience while writing the
novel, while the bulk of each chapter is filled with Vladek s flashbacks to his experiences during
the holocaust. Each chapter plays a significant role in the overall plot, and the reader s
understanding of Vladek s experience in the holocaust, as well as the dynamic... Show more content

In the third panel and the image all the way to the right Anja is clutching her baby but her eyes
are what give the image its power (81). They are shaded with big black circles around them that
make her look rather intimidating. This image shows how insane Anja is becoming due to the
hardships she faces in the chapter. Vladek is told a few months later that the family must be
relocated. He says, All 12 of our household were given now to live in 2 ½ small rooms (82). Even
though his family comes from wealth they don t receive any special privileges and they are forced
to basically live on top of each other in 2 ½ rooms. This symbolizes how little power even the most
wealth Jewish people have because the Nazis are taking over. On that same page in the third panel
the image shows a sign that states, REWARD: For Every Unregistered Jew You Find: 1 Kilo of
Sugar (82)! This is extremely powerful because the Nazis bribe other people to expose Jewish people
in order to receive rewards. Now, the Jewish people not only have to live in fear because of the
Nazis, but also because any non Jewish person could turn them in for a
The History Of Han China
Though the people of Islamic belief are scattered throughout China, the greatest concentration of
Muslims reside in the autonomous region of Xinjiang. This region is distinctly non Han in its ethnic
composition, since the Uyghurs account for nearly 75 percent of its population; the cultural
makeup of this region is comprised of Turkic language and beliefs in Islam (Clarke and Hayes 3).
However, the influx and growth of the Han Chinesepopulation in Xinjianghas created a language
barrier in which the Uyghurs have become the regional minority. In the past, the Uyghurs have been
continuously oppressed and silenced by their rulers. Even today, the Uyghur are subject to unfair
treatment in respect to education and professional opportunities.... Show more content on

After the revolution, the CCP attempted to reconcile by introducing policies allowing ethnic and
religious expression. This allowed Uyghur scholars to express their versions of history and culture,
which was not always consistent with Chinese rhetoric.
Unfortunately, China is taking steps back on their allowance of Islamic and Uyghur language
expression in Xinjiang. In March 2017, China banned burqas and abnormal beards in Xinjiang
claiming the action as a crackdown on religious extremism (Dearden, China bans... ). In July 2017,
China went back on their allowance of Uyghur language in schools by banning its use in Xinjiang
(Staff, RFA. China Bans... ). In September 2017, the Chinese police ordered Muslims to hand in
copies of the Koran and prayer mats (Heffron, Chinese police... ). All of these efforts have been
claimed to regulate and reduce extremism.
One of the distinguishing characteristics between the Uyghurs and Han is the language, a difference
that can be detrimental for Uyghurs looking for success within the dominating Han society. While
the Han use Mandarin, the Uyghurs use a Turkic derivative that is significantly divergent. The
Uyghurs believe that their language is central to their ethnic identity and refuse to allow it to be
forgotten beneath the pressure of Mandarin use. However, it is difficult for
Character Analysis Of Napolewell And The Animal Farm
Mr. Jones
Mr. Jones was the original owner of the farm whose rule ended when the animals rebelled. His
character symbolizes that of the ruler of Russia prior to the revolution, Tsar Nicholas II, who
resigned from the throne due to unrest in the people. Prior to the animal rebellion, Jones had lost
money due to a lawsuit and his farm suffered, his men were idle and dishonest, the fields were full
of weeds...and the animals were underfed (38). This was the breaking point that finally led the
animals to rebel. Correspondingly, the immediate cause towards Nicholas II s abdication were food
shortages (the driving force of the February Revolution). Napoleon
After Jones was out of the way, Snowball and Napoleon became the two disagreeing leaders.
Napoleon represents Joseph Stalin, although he wasn t the immediate next leader of Russia after Tsar
Nicholas II was overthrown. Just as how Napoleon executed animals who were a threat and the
air was heavy with the smell of blood, which had been unknown since the expulsion of Mr. Jones
(Nicholas II was given the name Nicholas the Bloody), Joseph Stalin had his reign of terror called
the Great Purge (93) where he executed many of his own people whom he believed were against
him. Another striking similarity was when Napoleon agreed to cooperate with Frederick, selling him
the pile of timber, and assured the animals that the stories of an impending attack on Animal Farm
were completely untrue (105). However, Frederick did eventually
Over The Past 1500 Years Human Kind Has Used Animals For
Over the past 1500 years human kind has used animals for testing and they still use animals for
testing today. Most experiments made on animals are for medical and cosmetic purposes. People
that are for testing on animals usually argue that we would not be where we are today if we didn t
experiment on animals. Others that are against it say that these experiments and methods weren t
always necessary for everything we have accomplished. Now with all of our modern technology,
science, and research do we still need to take trials and tests on animals? Testing on animals is
immoral and no longer needed with today s technology.
Animal testing started over a thousand years ago with several early philosophers and physicians
conducting experiments ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cosmetics and household products can be tested on these rather than the skin of live rabbits. This is
a huge development in human kind where the need for testing can slowly be eliminated. When
people go into surgery and have skin removed or parts of their body, with permission, they can be
used in such testing s. We do not have to use live animals for testing procedures with so many
different alternatives coming into place.
Another alternative is obvious, human volunteers. Animals cannot volunteer and are forced to
participate in experiments. This is called microdosing. Minuscule amounts of a test substance much
smaller than typical doses used for medical purposes are given to human volunteers so that
researchers can track how the substances are transported and absorbed throughout the body.
(Barnard, 2007) No big experiments are conducted on the volunteers, but just a small enough
procedure where no harm comes to any such volunteer. These small procedures are just enough for
research and progression.
The main reason so many are against animal testing is because they believe that it is cruel and
inhumane.
According to Humane Society International, animals used in experiments are commonly subjected to
force feeding, forced inhalation, food and water deprivation, prolonged periods of physical restraint,
the infliction of burns and other wounds to study the healing process, the infliction of pain to study
its effects and

How A Musical Machine As The Exemplification Of An...
Presentation

I propose to add to a musical machine as the exemplification of an intelligent

music framework. A standout amongst the most difficult ranges inside of PC music is genuine

time execution, and inside of this, joining machine listening systems to

incorporate some intuitiveness in the middle of client and framework. Whilst the generative
perspectives

of an intuitive framework can take into account more prominent comprehension of human
innovativeness

(Boden 1990), the logical perspectives can reveal insight into the intricate operation of

human discernment. This zone envelops such an extensive variety of computational,

subjective and social issues that the degree for exploration and study is verging on unbounded.

Further, the part of the robot in today s general public is quick moving from that of exceptionally

minimal human connection, to right on the bleeding edge as visit aides, household partners,

helps for tele presence and progressively as a major aspect of our stimulation frameworks (Xie

2003).

Advancement of intuitive musical robots would test individuals

biases and limits concerning the situations in which we associate

with innovation and its advancement and level of contribution inside of our lives.

The prizes are clear when working with musical apply autonomy, as you can typify

all the upsides of advanced music whilst keeping up the lavishness of

acoustic sounds (Weinberg et al 2005). A musical accomplice not
