The Misinterpretations Of Robert And Of The Blind Husband
This short story is based on a wife who is friends with a blind man by the name of Robert whom
she introduces to her husband when he comes into town to visit her after visiting his deceased
wife s family. Upon his arrival the wife s husband has already formed his own opinions and ideas
of what the blind man should be like from how he eats, his appearance, and even down to him as a
person. But as the story continues the husband see s that he was wrong and has many
misinterpretations of Robert and of the blindin general. While reading the story I was able to see
that the narrator of the story (the wifes husband) values self esteem, beliefs in the stereotypes, and
beliefs in being open minded.

And in addition to this he also is an individual who is beliefs in being open minded. After
analyzing the narrator as a character I have come to the conclusion that he is a dynamic character.
As defined in the textbook a dynamic character is a character that not just changes our impression
of them but the character themselves change as the story unfolds and events occur. The narrator
did not only change but he altered his understanding of Robert, of blind people in general. I say
this because in the beginning of the story the narrator acts as an average day host to his wife s
guest. But as the story goes on he starts to open up bit by bit. He holds idle conversations with
Robert and even shares Marijuana with Robert. Where he once was not looking forward to Robert
visiting his home because of a stereotype he had gained from a movie he had watched, by the end
he was completely different. As in different I mean he had put aside all of his stereotypes, his own
thoughts and emotions and opened up to Robert. In the beginning my impression of the narrator was
that he would be distant and act awkward towards Robert but as the story unfolded my impression
changed as he

Instant Messaging Research Paper
Is Instant Messaging Ruining America? It is the year 2017 I am astonished to say that out of 1,721
high schools and 1,266,505 high school students in the state of Texas, the educational testing service
and the Texas education agency still cannot determine the answer to this mystifying question. We
live in an age of information and an increasing need for automation in every aspect of everyday life.
Is technology ruining our since of face to face communication? New advancements in instant
messaging has helped connect people but some may say instant messaging has hurt us more than it
helped. I think that instant messaging helps us in many ways. When you re sitting at the side of the
freeway with smoke coming out of your car you need instant
Children Of Dune Analysis
Children of Dune

Is it wise to save somebody, but harm them in the process. Frank Herbert s Children of Dune
explores this idea. Leto, the boy who will soon be emperor, has a vision of the future in which he
believes that he can save humanity from destruction, but would harm them in the process. He
intends to lead humanity along a Golden Path , but will have readers questioning if he will do more
harm than good. Despite the fact that Leto s intentions are good, he is actually evil.

Leto begins his path to ruling the universe by destroying the changing ecology of Arrakis, the main
planet in the empire. The ecology is being changed so that the planet will be more livable, because
it is brutal desert planet. Tomorrow I ll raid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To do this he believes that he must become a tyrant. And I beheld another beast coming up out of
the sand; and he had two horns like a lamb, but his mouth was fanged and fiery as the dragon and
his body shimmered and burned with great heat while it did hiss like the serpent revised Bible
(Herbert). This passage from the revised Bible of Dune is a foreshadowing to Leto rising up as the
emperor, because is is an almost exact description of a sandworm. The natives of the planet
worship the sandworms as a physical representation of God, and Leto makes himself partially
sandworm in the book. Leto does another act of evil by proclaiming himself to be a god. Leto
knows that he will be a brutal ruler, and that it will be hard for humanity to survive. Leto told his
father, Paul Your jihad will be a summer picnic on Caladan by comparison (Herbert). Pauls jihad
was a successful attempt to make his rule absolute, but it caused the death of 61 billion people. Leto
understands what his rule will do, but he will continue anyways. Leto knows he will be a tyrant, and
shows that he is evil by continuing anyways.

Despite being the protagonist of the novel, Leto is really a villain. He believes that by being a
tyrant, he can benefit all of humanity. To him, the billions of deaths, the disruption of a planet s
transformation, and him wanting to be a god show that he is inherently evil. He believes that he can
save humanity by oppressing and harming them. Leto is the true villain of Children of
Dr. Seuss Character Analysis
Being able to relate to something or someone is the best thing that can happen to us. Reading a
book can bring us memories of how we used to be and how we felt when we first read something
we were able to relate too. In most books we are able to relate to the characters. Not only are we
able to relate ourselves to a character and now that we are not the only ones like that but we can
relate the other characters with our surroundings. In the book The Cat in the Hatby Dr. Seuss, some
of the few books that we can relate the character to us, uses fantasia and realistic characters that we
can relate ourselves and others that are within our surroundings. The children are the main
characters, realistic and are the ones that we relate ourselves... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Also the fish is treated as a family member. The fish says ... our mother... stating how the children s
mother is also his mother (Seuss 25). This situation is comparable on how some children and even
adults see their pets as a member of their family.
Thing 1 and Thing 2 are the pets that the Cat in the Hat brings along to show a different way to
have fun. The Things are fantasy characters and are similar to the children. They both do not know
how to have fun but the children do not do any action they just sit unlike the Things they make a
mess. The cat describes Thing 1 and Thing 2 by telling the fish, They are tame. Oh so tame! They
have come here to play... (Seuss 37). The Things turn out not to be so disciplined nor tame they were
a total disaster. They were like little monsters running around the house destroying everything near
them, not knowing how to domestically have fun. Even though they were illustrated as a child they
had different qualities that distinguished them from a human. Since they are designated as Things it
indicates that they are not human (MacDonald 115). Also the narrator the boy described them as
some wild things as he saw that they were knocking down everything. Also, when Dr. Seuss
mentions that they are tame, he pats Thing 1 and Thing 2 on their head like if they were pets.

Effective Reading Interventions For Kids With Learning...
Throughout a child s life, he/she is faced with many obstacles. One of the biggest hurdles that they
must overcome is learning to read. For some children, that task does not come easy. Children with
learning disabilities struggle the most in school because they do not learn as quickly as children
without learningdisabilities. In an article by Kristin Stanberry and Lee Swanson called Effective
ReadingInterventions for Kids with Learning Disabilities, it discusses the different interventions that
teachers can use to improve the learning capabilities of students with learning deficits. Throughout
this essay, different topics will be discussed on how improve and increase word recognition skills
will benefit a child with learning disabilities, different ways to improve readingcomprehension skills,
and personal viewpoints on how these different methods are effective.
In this article, Swanson discusses how improving and increasing word recognition skills can be
beneficial to students with learning disabilities. Also, he concurred that there were three instruction
components that proved most effective in increasing word recognition skills in students with
learning disabilities. The three components were: sequencing, segmentation, and advanced
organizers. Some examples of sequencing are, having the child break an unknown word into separate
sounds or parts they can sound out, matching difficulty levels to the tasks and to the students, and
lastly using step by step prompts.
Beloved Character Analysis
Sethe, the mother of four is tormented everyday by the attempt to make her children safe. Her two
boys left home long ago and now she resides in her home at I24 with her only living daughter
Denver. In the novel Beloved, written by Toni Morrison the character Beloved seeks to gain power
over a her family, and those around her.
Sethe is always in a constant power struggle with the ghost baby the haunts her house. Full of
baby s venom. The women in the house knew it and so did the children. For years each put up
with the spite in his own way (Morrison 1). This quote is talking about the ghost baby in the
house that haunts the family that resides in it. It seeks power over the whole house in the
beginning. This caused her two boys to leave the house because the baby was out to get them.
Made him trust her enough to step inside her door smack into a pool of pulsing red light... a wave
of grief soaked him so thoroughly he wanted to cry (Morrison 11). A visitor Paul D is talking
about how it felt to walk into the house, this is how the baby is seeking power over everyone in that
house because this is how it feels most of the time in the house. Constantly causing pain, and grief in
a way. The ghost baby causes this type of pain and torment throughout the whole novel, seeking
power and control over Sethe inpartiular. This power struggle is shown at an even bigger even
when the ghost baby is reincarnated as a real young women known as Beloved. She is the oldest
daughter of Sethe.
