Hindu Weddings
RELIGIONS PAPER (Need Title)

Extravagant clothing, succulent victuals, exquisite flowers, spectacular photography and many other
grand decorations are the foundation of a Hindu marriage. Hindu marriages, like most other cultural
wedding ceremonies, are deeply concerned with their religious rituals and customs. Most ceremonies
in the Hindu culture are family oriented with great emphasis on entertainment and inspiration. Also,
off course, the amount of decorations and the extent to which the rituals are carried out depends
greatly on the class of the families in society. Wealthier families are inclined to spend vast amounts
of money into the wedding ceremony to make it extremely extravagant, whereas the lower class
families tend to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are a number of pre marriage celebrations that are carried out, including the engagement and
other days on which families and friends get together and rejoice. Other pre marriage celebrations
consist of Mehndi, Sangeet, and Tilak. Mehndi, also known as henna, plays a great role in the
wedding celebrations. There is a whole day devoted to the Mehndi Ceremony, which is
performed by the bride s side. There was a banquet hall booked for the Mehndi ceremony and
close to three hundred guests were invited. There was singing and dancing to traditional music,
remarkable diversity of foods, exquisite decorations with an elegant assortment of mostly yellow
flowers. The bride s friends and relatives performed wonderful dances. The girls applied henna on
the bride s hands and feet, making traditional designs and patterns. The henna is supposed to
symbolize passion and the strength of love in the marriage and so the bride has to keep it on for a
long time. The bride was dressed in light yellow and white clothes, the colours symbolizing purity.
After the Mehndi Ceremony, the bride is not allowed to the leave the house until on her marriage
day. Between the Mehndi Ceremony and the marriage day there is a night devoted to Sangeet.
Sangeet merely just means music. It is mostly considered the most enjoyable and entertaining night
as friends and family just dance all night long. Sangeet was held at the bride s house and mostly the

Essay Blue Heron
In Cold Mountain and A Poem for the Blue Heron , tone is established in a multitude of ways.
These two pieces of literature describe the characteristics and actions of a blue heron, both aiming
for the same goal. However, Charles Frazier and Mary Oliver approach their slightly differing tones
employing organization, metaphoric language, and diction.

Organization is a key element in Frazier s and Oliver s work, as it works directly to set the tone, as
well as acting as a symbol of nature. Charles Frazier writes in long, descriptive sentences and
paragraphs. These, along with the carefully chosen words in the smooth sentences, create a relaxing,
peaceful tone and feel to the story. This tone reflects on the symbolic part of structure; ... Show more

Metaphoric language is used in both works to establish tone, but the approaches differ. In Cold
Mountain, Frazier uses similes to bring emphasis on different aspects of nature. For instance, the
author describes the heron s legs and wings as black as the river. This is to continue the smooth,
even tone of the passage and establish that there is a continuous circle, spawning from nature and
leading right back to nature. Relating the heron to another awe inspiring aspect of nature simply
elevates its divinity. Personification is also used in this passage to give the paragraphs an ironic
tone. When Frazier describes the heron as look[ing] high as a man in the slant light with its long
shadow blown out across the water , he establishes a tone of irony. The heron is mocking mankind,
who stands in front of nature (and supposedly above it) and allow themselves to consume it
entirely. The irony continues as the heron looks as if it does not know where to step next, lost in its
own conceit. This ironic tone is a laugh at mankind for being so selfish. However, in the poem,
Oliver speaks in the first person narrative, as if mankind is attached to nature and can comprehend
what is happening. This gives the poem a cynical tone, full of anticipated destruction and isolation.
Metaphoric language adds to tone immensely.

The diction used by the authors is extremely telling in itself as well. In Cold Mountain, Frazier starts
off with the absolute phrase, off in the river
Curl Pattern Vs. Hair Texture
Knowing Your Hair Type: Curl Pattern Vs Hair Texture, What s the Difference? As a natural hair
enthusiast, or as I like to call myself, a Naturalista, I believe it is important for all those who are
considering making the transition, the big chop, or who have transitioned (from relaxed to natural
hair), or have made the big chop to know the challenges you will face when it comes to making
these, in many cases, life altering decisions. I know this all sounds very dramatic, and for some it
is. So, for the sake of entertainment and, if it will keep you reading, then let s continue with the
drama. For those of you who have no clue on where to begin, let me say this: The internet and
blogosphere is saturated with naturalistas like myself who have taken as much, if not more time to
learn all there is to know about how to care for our natural hair.

If you care enough to do the research yourself, you will find that the market for this particular
niche is very appealing to those who seek to make a profit. Of course it s because many of them know

The truth is, a black woman and a white woman both can have the same curl pattern (e.g. a 3c
pattern), but have completely different textures. Now, is this starting to make a little more sense?
When I think of textures, I think of how something feels to the touch, to the taste, and even to the
sight. Some textures are smooth and silky, while other textures are rigid and rough. Then, there s
this whole thing on porosity. I won t go into detail about porosity, but just know that if you ve
relaxed or dyed your hair (and haven t chopped it off sounds so drastic, doesn t it?) then more than
likely the porosity of your hair is high. The porosity of your hair determines how your hair may
react to certain products because of its ability to absorb or emit any kind of

Biography Of Benjamin Franklin
Franklin was the founder of a number of institutions integral, today, to an American way of life the
first lending library (the Philadelphia Library in 1731), the first scholarly voluntary association (the
Junto or Leather Apron Club), the first fire department (the Union Fire Company of Philadelphia in
1736), and the postal system. He served as the first Postmaster mGeneral in 1753. He wrote and
printed the Poor Richard s Almanack, an immensely popular book of homespun wisdom. Franklin

The Junto was an exclusive club comprised of fellow merchants and artisans devoted to the
discussion of morals, politics, science, and history. Franklin s Junto club is credited with the
beginning of America s first subscription libraries. Franklin and Junto founded the Philadelphia
Library in 1731. Besides his printing business and associational involvement, Franklin was
fascinated by the study of science and invention. He invented a myriad of useful objects, such as a
special clock and a home heating stove. He also marveled at the study of electricity and, in 1752,
performed his now famous kite experiment to prove the connection between lightning and
electricity. Left to his devices, Franklin would have probably been content to spend his days as a
scientist, however, civic affairs and international diplomacy consumed a great deal of his time during
the second phase of his

Foundations of Human Development in the Social Environment

The foundation of human development, responds to the breakdown of its commitment to the
development of attitudes and skills, which facilitate authentic personal, spiritual, and social
development and the transformation throughout an individual s life span. During an individual s life
span, the foundations of human development begin to change, as the direct result of the social
environment. Contact within the social environment, such as various relationships with others,
causes growth and change in human development. The understanding of culture and the importance

In this era, diversity and cultural competence are extremely important to understand, regarding the
foundations of human development in the social environment. Diversity can alter or affect an
individual s behavior in many ways. Diversity is considered when an individual is different, or
composed of differing elements. Therefore, diversity can include different nationality, gender, sexual
orientation, age, class, disability, gender identity, immigration status, political ideology, and religion.
At any time, an individual is determined as belonging to another group, different from the majority,
the individual is considered to be subject to the effects of diversity. Many children coming from
different countries have a problem with language. Not being able to speak the language of the
community can cause huge barriers for the children to overcome. Many parents believe that the key
to a successful life and fulfillment is to get an education. These parents encourage their kids, that
with an education nothing can defeat you. It is also very important for the social worker, or human
service provider to be comfortable with diversity, and is culturally competent. Cross cultured means
the individual appreciates and compares the differences and the similarities of different cultures as
well as their own.
The general systems theory based on order, explains why the scenario is what it is. The study of

Avoid a halo effect. This is when an interviewer allows one or two positive traits of a candidate to
affect his/her judgment in other areas. It can also apply to negative traits or characteristics.

Occasionally, applicants may volunteer non job related information relating to religion, sex, marital
status, national origin, age, etc. during an interview, which can be used to discriminate. An example
is an applicant who talks about being divorced or about his/her children and childcare arrangements.
Even though you did not ask for the information, you can still be charged with discrimination if a
question arises subsequently about how this information was used. Should an applicant volunteer
non job related information:

oDo not write the information down oDo not ask follow up questions or make statements to continue
in the area of discussion

oReturn the discussion to job related issues

oDo not consider the non job related information in decisions about the applicant s candidacy.

Be careful not to overrate compatibility with other department staff/faculty because it can work
against diversity. Be wary of making assumptions about the candidate like:

oThis person won t be happy here

oThis person won t understand our students, our employees, our internal customers, etc.

oThis person won t stay if we hire them.

Stop Up Toilet Research Paper
The primary thing ought to do when confronting a stopped up toilet is making inquiries. Do you
have any young children? Would they be able to have tossed a little toy down the toilet? Is this a
typical stop up? Has anybody dropped anything into the toilet and attempted to flush it down as
opposed to hauling it out? It is best for you to answer me now, at that point for me to squander a
large portion of a day and afterward discover what I ought to do. After all, reality saves them cash.
Apparently, you are doing this without anyone s help, so you don t need to pose these inquiries, yet
ask those in your family if require be.

In the wake of finding the solutions, I will either utilize a plunger or a toilet auger, at times called a
snake. Standard stop up I dive, everything else I wood screw.

chance that you don t go insufficiently far you will scratch your toilet bowl. Presently turn the
handle clockwise and push down in the meantime. When hauling out the snake, I simply lift the
handle part up to the extent that I can. On the off chance that the snake stall out you may need to
give it a turn while hauling out. Regularly, however, it is best to attempt and haul the auger out
without turning. In some cases, if there is for each or a toothbrush in the toilet the snake will take

Essay on Egyptian, Babylonian, And Hebrew Religions
Egyptian, Babylonian, and Hebrew Religions

Egyptians, Babylonians, and Hebrews have similarities yet also differences in their religions. The
importance is not in the similarities as much as it is in the differences that distinguish the cultures
from each other and their views on life. I would like to point out each civilization s creation and
flood story.
By analyzing these stories we can come to a better understanding of their world views. The Hebrew
creation story from the book of Genesis is one that most people know well. In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth. The earth was without form and void. God said, quot;let there be
light, quot; and there was light. He then separated the light from the darkness. He also ... Show more

Thus the physical universe was created. People were created from Ra s tears. Time passed and Ra
grew frail, so the ungrateful race of men plotted against Ra.
When Ra learned of this he called the gods together. The gods decided that mankind must be
destroyed. Tens of thousands of men were killed until only a few were left. Then Ra relented and
man was spared. Nevertheless Ra was sick of the world and retreated into the heavens, leaving Shu
to reign in his place.
At that time the present world was established. The Babylonians have their own interpretation of the
beginning. All things came from the water. From the mixture of sweet water, Aspu, with salt water,
Tiamat, the gods arose. Aspu and
Tiamat gave birth to a pair of gigantic serpents, Lakhmu and Lakhamu. These two serpents produced
Anshar and Kishar, the heavens and the earth. Anshar and
Kishar then conceived Anu, Enlil, and Ea. Aspu and Tiamat grew angry because the younger
gods were noisy. So, they decided to destroy the new gods. Ea, the all knowing, learned of this
plan and used his magic to capture Apsu. Tiamat became furious and created and army of gods and
monsters to punish Ea and the others. Marduk was asked to stand against Tiamat and her army.
Marduk promised to defeat Tiamat if he was given supremacy over the gods. Marduk defeated
Tiamat and her army. While he was cutting up Tiamat s body he used half her body and created the
dome of the heavens. With the other half he made the earth.
