Part 1:

Dear Mark,

I am glad to receive your email. Thank you very much

I am writing in response to your email relating to a local festival in my city.

To start with, in my city, the Spring Lantern Festival is usually held on January 13 to 15 of the lunar
calendar. Actually, this festival attracts a lot of participants, even people who do not live in my city. This
is because the colorful lanterns are so gorgeous that everyone wants to come to see and take pictures.

Regarding activities, people can join a lot of activities such as: play folk games, singing, dancing and so
on. As a matter of fact, these activities not only bring people joy but also help preserve cultural
traditions. Besides, they create a lively and friendly atmosphere where everyone can connect and have
fun together.

In terms of the best locations for taking photos, you should visit areas that are nicely decorated with
things like lanterns, flowers, and colorful flags. In reality, these places are not only beautiful but also
show the special culture of the festival. Additionally, they are perfect for taking fun photos to keep as
memories or to share with friends and family.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Hai Duong

Part 2:

In recent years, university education has become a broad issue to the general public. Some people
believe that students should only study one main subject at university. However, others think that
students should also study other subjects outside their major. In my opinion, I agree with the latter idea.
Discussed below are several reasons supporting my perspective.

First and foremost, people should recognize that learning other subjects helps students improve
different skills. A very important point to consider is that today’s jobs often need a mix of knowledge.
This means that students who study more than one subject can do more kinds of work. To illustrate this
point, I would like to mention that many companies want workers who know both technical skills and
communication. Another point I would like to make is that learning different subjects can make students
more creative and open-minded. This is because of the fact that they see problems from different
angles. For example, a student studying business who also learns psychology can better understand how
customers think.
On the other hand, there are several arguments in support of the idea that students should only focus
on their main subject. It is also convincing to relize that studying only main subject helps students
become experts in their field. This means that they can understand their major better and be more
professional. A specific example of this is that doctors and engineers need many years of deep study to
do their jobs well. Additionally, studying only one subject can reduce stress and help students focus.
When they study too many things, they may feel confused or tired. For example, a law student who has
to study art or music may not have enough time to finish their main reading or assignments.

In conclusion, the above-mentioned facts have created a dilemma when people evaluate the impact of
this issue, and it is still a controversial issue. As far as I am concerned, I put more highlight on the idea
that students should be encouraged to study subjects outside their main field. People should have
further consideration on this issue.
