UPSC CAPF (AC) Detailed Syllabus

Paper I: General Ability and Intelligence (Objective - 250 Marks)

1. General Mental Ability:


- Logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, spatial ability, analytical reasoning

2. General Science:
- Everyday science, environmental science, scientific developments and technology

3. Current Events of National and International Importance:


- Current issues, events in politics, economy, science, sports, environment, and international affairs

4. Indian Polity and Economy:


- Indian Constitution, political system, governance, Panchayati Raj, economic development, social welfare schemes

5. History of India:
- Ancient, Medieval, Modern history, Freedom movement, key events and personalities

6. Indian and World Geography:


- Physical, social, economic geography, natural resources, rivers, climate, disasters, agriculture, industries

Paper II: General Studies, Essay and Comprehension (Descriptive - 200 Marks)

Part A - Essay (80 Marks):


- Write two essays on topics like national/international issues, security, environment, social justice, women
empowerment

Part B - English Language Skills (120 Marks):


- Comprehension, precis writing, grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction, report writing

Recommended Additional Topics

- Internal security and border management


- Role of paramilitary forces in India
- Basics of human rights
- Ethics and integrity in governance
