Model Analysis

The document presents Moyer's and Tanaka's analyses of mixed dentition, focusing on the upper and lower arches' tooth widths and space requirements. It calculates the space required and available for both arches, concluding that there is adequate space in both cases, with positive values indicating spacing. The analysis includes specific measurements and predictions for unerupted teeth based on existing incisor widths.

Definition: the width of the lower incisors are used to predict

upper cusped and bicuspid width (by 75%)

Width of lower 4 incisor = 22

The predictable size of unerupted upper cuspid and bicuspids

by (75%)

in one side= 21

In both side = 21×2 = 42

Space Required = width of upper 4 incisors+ width of

predictable size of upper cusped and bicuspid in the both side

Space Required = 35 + 42= 77

Space Available

distance between the distal of right lateral to the mesial of right 1st
molar = 23

distance between distal of left lateral to the mesial of left 1st molar
= 22.5

Distance in the both side the arch = 23+22.5 = 45.5

Space Available = width of upper four incisors+distance between

lateral to the 1st molar in the both arch

Space Available= 35+ 45.5=80.5

Space Available – Space Required = 80.5 -77 =+3.5
