MATHEMATICS

Time: Two hours and a half Maximum marks: 80


Instructions:
Answers to this paper must be written on the answer script provided separately.
You will NOT be allowed to write during the first 15 minutes. This time is to be spent in
reading the question paper.
The time given at the head of this paper is the time allowed for writing the answers.
Answer all questions in Section A. Attempt any four questions from Section B.
All working, inchuding rough work must clearly be shown and must be done on the same
sheet as the rest of the answer. Omission of essential working will result in loss of marks.
The intended marks for questions or parts of questions are given in brackets [].
Mathematical tables and graph papers shall be provided to you.

discount from a wholesaler. He sells the article to a consumer at the list price.
The sales are intra-state and the rate of GST is 18%. If the shopkeeper pays a
tax (under GST) of Rs 72 to the State Govemment, find the rate of discount at
which he bought the article from the wholesaler. [4]

(c) Find the value(s)of 'p' for which the quadratic equation
(2p + 1) x-(7p+ 2) x +(7p-3) = 0 has equal roots. Also find these roots.
