Aim: To provide a plan to enable Involved person to be safely removed from the work
area and Conveyed to the ambulance (offshore and onshore) for timely evacuation to
the clinic.

Objectives: To ensure that nominated personnel are competent in the methods of


casualty rescue and in use of rescue equipment.

RESCUE PLAN
Equipment Required: Ambulance Boat, Rhino Boat and Vehicle ambulance, First aid Kit,
Stretcher.

Personnel: Minimum number of 4 (2 on rhino Boat and 2 on Ambulance Boat) 2 First


Aiders to ensure the Involved person is carried in the correct manner.

Method:
Assess the situation: Before attempting any rescue operation, it is essential to assess the situation to
determine the severity of the victim's injuries, the sea conditions and any potential hazards in the
area, such as river currents or unstable boat and platform, proximity of ambulance boat to work site,
upon emergency contact less than or equal 1minutes arrival to work site.

Stabilize the victim: Once the personnel is successfully hanged by the ambulance boat or the rhino
boat assessed the situation, the next step is to stabilize the victim's condition after bringing him up on
the emergency response boats. If necessary, provide first aid and medical attention to the victim
while attempting to move personnel to the Mof Jetty.

Prepare the stretcher: Before moving the victim, prepare the stretcher by attaching any necessary
straps or restraints to secure the victim in place during the transport. Make sure the stretcher is
strong enough to support the victim's weight and has enough handles for the rescuers to carry it
safely.

Secure the victim to the stretcher: Once the stretcher is in place, secure the victim to the stretcher
using the attached straps or restraints. Make sure the victim is comfortable and secure to avoid any
further injuries during transport. 4 Personnel to support the victim without losing him in seawater.

Lift the Ring LIFE BUOYS out of the Boat and transfer the personnel: With the victim securely
fastened to the stretcher, carefully lift the personnel out of the water. Use proper lifting techniques to
avoid injuring the rescuers or the victim. Once the ring buoy is clear of the water, transport the victim
to a safe location using ambulance boat to the site Clinic, and further to H Block Clinic facility using on
land ambulance. Ensure that the victim receives proper medical attention as soon as possible.
Review the rescue operation: After the rescue operation is complete, review the operation to
identify any areas that need improvement or any safety issues that arose during the operation.

Use of Ambulance Boat and personnel Transfer:


Personnel will be driven through the ambulance boat from work site to the pontoon area of the jetty
and be manually lifted onto the standby ambulance vehicle onshore to site or H block Clinic.

Note: This method to be practiced by personnel who are likely to be nominated as stretcher-bearers

TEMPORARY PLATFORM
In an event where there is an emergency offshore, workers need to be evacuated from
the crane barge (offshore) to onshore.

ACTION
A boat ambulance will evacuate the worker to the Mof Jetty. Then it will be received by
a team of first aiders who will be mobilized into an ambulance vehicle and taken to the
site clinic or H block clinic for medical examination.
