RISK ASSESMENT
Risk assessment for steel welding works involves identifying potential hazards
and evaluating the likelihood and severity of potential consequences. Here are
some steps to help you conduct a risk assessment for steel welding works:
1. Identify the hazards: Some of the potential hazards associated with steel
welding works include exposure to fumes and gases, electrical hazards, fire
hazards, eye and skin injuries, noise hazards, and physical hazards such as falling
objects.
3. Evaluate existing controls: Identify any existing controls that are in place to
11
manage the identified hazards, such as personal protective equipment (PPE),
ventilation systems, or safety protocols. Evaluate their effectiveness and identify
any gaps or deficiencies.
5. Implement and monitor controls: Once the additional controls have been
identified, implement them and monitor their effectiveness over time. Regular
reviews should be conducted to ensure that the risk assessment remains up to
date and relevant.
By following these steps, you can identify and manage potential hazards
associated with steel welding works, helping to ensure a safe working
environment for all involved.
