ITEM1
Following the passing away of a grand father, the family convened a month later to
settle his estate and read his will, to which you were invited. However, a surprise
revelation emerged when the youngest child revealed a mysterious envelope left by the
grand father, containing a secretive message. The envelope contained a piece of paper
with the number 31, which needed to be converted to a ternary numeral system (base
three) to unlock the secret code to gain access to his office strongbox. But, to their
dismay, none of the family members recalled how to perform the conversion, and they

Upon opening the safe, they discovered a staggering 349 million shillings and a will
outlining the distribution of the wealth. The will stipulated that the grand mother was
to receive 40% of the total, the eldest son was to receive one-third of the remaining
amount, and the two younger grand children were to share the balance in a 2:3 ratio
according to their birth order. To ensure a fair and impartial distribution, your
expertise was sought once again to calculate the exact share for each beneficiary,
preventing any potential disputes or biases.
TASK;
a) Advice the family on how to unlock the safe.
b) Show, how you helped the family to receive their shares fairly.
ITEM2
On buying a large piece of land, the business woman wanted to construct a cinema
hall. She then called her engineer to make a foundation plan. Unfortunately the
engineer was very busy and only gave her step to come up with the plan which she
noted as;
(a) Draw a line AB of 7cm and make an angle of 135o at B measured from A.
(b) With centre at B and radius of 4cm, draw an arc to cut the 135o line at point C.
(c) Construct a perpendicular at A and on it mark a point E 5cm above A.
(d) Draw a line ED parallel and equal to AB.
(e) Join points D to C.
(f) Construct a semicircle passing through A and E facing away from BD.

The following week, the engineer asked the business woman the direction to the
location of land. From home, the engineer had to drive to town P which is 30km on a
bearing of 095o and then drive 27km north of P to reach the destination.
TASK: As a mathematics student;
a) i) Assist the business woman to come up with an accurate foundation plan for
the cinema hall as instructed by the engineer.
ii). Find out the size of the land
b) Find in the bearing of the engineer’s home from the location of the land and the
shortest distance between.
ITEM3
On Monday, the birthday girl three rang three friends and invited them to her party.
Each was told to invite three friends the next day and tell them to continue the
process. Telephone communications for Monday and Tuesday are shown (see support)
and Sunday was the last day on which people were invited.
After the party, the birthday girl found out she some gifts from her friend Sarah, and
six more gifts from Amina. she gave 8 of her gifts to her brother and remained with 16
gifts.

In a the population survey on the highest level of education among 400 people in a
your village, the findings were as follows: 100 had degrees, 90 had college diplomas, 50
had masters degree, 20 had PhD, 80 were high school leavers and 60 were primary
school leavers. The survey also considered data on age of children not more than 10yrs
that we vaccinated for Yellow fever which ware as follows:

The LC1 chairman had to prepare and present the a data in the village meeting the following
weekend. Unfortunately he had a very busy schedule and tasked you assists him.
