JONATHAN SWIFT
• Jonathan Swift was born in 1667 in Dublin,
Ireland.
• When he was twenty-two, he moved to
England to work as a secretary.
• During his life Swift published a great
number of works, most of which were attacks
on political and religious ideas.
•Swift’s most famous book, Gulliver’s
Travels, was published in 1726.
•It was a great success at the time and
was read by everyone, from politicians
to children.

GULLIVER IN LILLUPUT
• After a storm at sea, Gulliver finds himself on the
island of Lilliput, where people are only 15 cm.
• Lilliputians love Gulliver for his help.
• After the battle with Blefuscu, Gulliver leaves the
island.

• On this island inhabited by giants, a giant finds
gulliver and takes it to a farmer.
• farmer earns money through gulliver.
• The queen buys Gulliver and Glumdalclitch.
• The sailors find the travel box Gulliver was in, and

meaning the people who never dies.
GULLIVER IN HOUYHNHNMS
• Gulliver goes to this island where horses rule and
servants are man-like gargoyles called yahoos.
• Gulliver never wants to leave this island because the
horses are very intelligent and sensitive.
• The horses say that Gulliver is not one of them, they build
a boat and Gulliver returns home.

• gulliver pushes people away because everyone
starts to look like yahoo.
• He writes a book about his journeys, but people
accuse him of lying.
• Gulliver understands that there is no hope for
people, they are a Yahoo and always will be.
