This hotel calls itself a five star resort, it’s neither of
those things. It’s not a bad hotel, just not as you would
expect for the price paid.
There is an immense lack of security, it’s so easy for
anyone to enter from the beach and the roadside.
The rooms are a little basic but ok.
Friendly sta" but poorly trained.
There is a big need for a Lobby.
There is HUGE room for improvement.
Aside from this everything was good.

Great Location but needs improvement
The location is great, nice pool and stunning view of
the beach. Needs improvement in the cabins, signs of
time are evident and installations inside the cabins
are poor (loose cables, no place to open suitcases,
some bugs and mosquitoes inside, etc.), the
restaurant does not have service past 6:30 pm and
there are very few dishes to choose. The security at
night is also a main concern, there is a completely free
access from the beach.

Never go there!
They don´t have any security proteccion. Sunday
April 22 at ca. 20:00 a clock, we were vicitms of an
armed assault by four masekd male individuals inside
the hotel in front of our cabin. Administration sta"
absent; anybody came to help us!

Good place for the family, needs some improvement...
The cabins are good and clean, the pool is big, food is
ok, lighting at night is more than enough, the place
could use a slight overhaul, but considering they just
had a massive earthquake a year ago, the place held
up their end...

Beautiful Location
The hotel is beautifully conceived. A pool surrounded
by cabins with a view. The location is great and quiet.
Perfect for a vacation.
However, the care given by the owners is not the best.
We arrived for a long week end and the pool wasn´t
ready, the food was not prepared and they didn´t
have cold beer yet.
Lack of care was the problem, which could not be
compensated with the employees attention and e"ort.
A great place to go in a beautifull setting.
I´ll return, hoping for a better attention from the
administration

Disappointing
Playa Cristal calls itself a resort, which is totally
inaccurate, as it has little or none of the facilities and
amenities that one would expect of a proper
beachside resort. On its own website, it refers to itself
as five-star, which is just laughable.
There are good things to be said about it; the rooms
are not bad, if a little basic. The sta" do their best to
be helpful, but are poorly trained and totally lacking
in professional management supervision.

Super nice
We spent a couple days here during the o" season.
I'm pretty sure there were only 2 other parties at the
time. We showed up without a reservation but got a
great couple of rooms right there (do make
reservations though). Food was the best I've had in
Ecuador so far, service was good and the hotel itself is
very very nice. Can't wait to go back.

A perefct place to relax and rest!
When you travel regularly, you only remember after a
while only some of the places. This is certainly, one
place to be remembered.
You will be accommodated in a spacious and
comfortable room with view to the central swimming
