Measurement Table
Measurement Table
Taking measurements is a very important point when making a garment, for that reason we must
do it correctly. Measurements can be taken in centimeters or inches depending on your
preference, the measurement you like to use or what you feel most comfortable with; Both forms
work the same way.
To start in “Haute Couture” the first thing we need is to know how to take measurements
correctly. The measurements we need to make a garment are the following:
Waist:- the tape is put around the waist, we need to put our hands on the waist first to know
where it is located.
Front Waist Length: - It is taken from the shoulder to the waist in front, passing through the
highest part of the bust.
Back Waist Length: - It is taken from the shoulder to the waist at the back.
Empire Cut: - It is taken from the shoulder to below the bust, passing through the highest part of
the bust (this measurement is taken only from the front).
High Bust or Long Clamp: - It is taken from the shoulder at the level of the nipple.
Hip Length:- taken from the waist to the top of the hip.
Sleeve Length:- Take it from the shoulder to the desired sleeve length.
Sleeve Contour: - The tape is placed around the thickest part of the arm.
Skirt Length: - Take from the waist to the desired skirt length.
Hello everyone, today we will see how to make a pant mold for women....for those who dare to do
a test, please leave your photo here.
-a long table
-scissors
waist circumference, hip circumference, hip height, knee length, and total pants length.
hip height=20cms
inseam length = 25cms that is (1/4 part of hip which is equal to 100 divided by 4)
Gavilan oprolongation of the shot = forward 6.25 part rearera 6.25 +2 (1/4 part length of shot)
knee height
pants length
1. We begin to draw a rectangle that will measure 1/4 part of the hip (AB) X the total length of the
pants (AC) Measurement taken from the waist to the ground or floor.
1
2. Trace the hip, inseam and knee lines like this:
AE shooting line we mark shooting height that comes from 1/4 of the hip.
knee line. Taken from the waist to the knee (another way is to take the measurement that remains
from the height of the hip to the floor, we divide it in two and at the divided point we subtract 5
cm and add it to the bottom part which means that the knee will be shorter compared to the
floor).
3. In this step you will learn to make the stroke of the hawk, which is the extension of the shot, it is
represented in lowercase letters a,b,c
From ab and ac we mark 1/4 part of the rise and join with a curve taking into account that the
depth of the curve must be 3cm apart from the angle formed (a,b,c) this curve is responsible for
the formation of wrinkles in the pants
At the waist line we enter 1cm and go down 1cm and join the points.
yes
We draw the construction line of the pants, this line is what makes the pants have a good fit.
a-we divide the shooting line plus extension of the hawk by two and where we measure it we draw
a line along the entire length of the pants, it must be perfectly straight.
4.b-of this construction line to the right and left (up or down depends on how the paper is) we
mark 1/4 of the knee on the knee line and 1/4 of the boot on the boot line (length of the pants)
unimops with straight lines from the knee to the length of the pants and with semi-curved lines
from the hawk to the knee and from the line from the hip to the knee on the side.
yes
We draw 1/4 of the waist + 3cms on the waist line and join the hip with a semi-curved or straight
line.
Then I give you the back. This line is without the tweezers.
yes

"Men, Children and Babies"
In these tables the measurements are already calculated with the clearances to make the base mold
and they also correspond to standard bodies and it is good to remember that very few people fit exactly to
These measurements may have one or two sizes difference above or below the waist.
