FILM REVIEW: DANGEROUS MINDS

REFLECTION:

1. Based on the video lecture on Cross Cultural Communication, reflect or explain some of
the highlights of the film. Give three highlights with reflection.

The highlight of cross-cultural communication in the movie "Dangerous Minds" is the

portrayal of a teacher, LouAnne Johnson, who uses innovative teaching methods to connect with
her culturally diverse students. The movie emphasizes the importance of understanding and
respecting different cultural backgrounds to effectively communicate and educate. It showcases
how the teacher learns about her students' cultural experiences and adapts her teaching style to
bridge the cultural gap, ultimately leading to improved communication and learning outcomes.
This highlights the significance of cultural sensitivity and empathy in fostering effective cross-
cultural communication.

Aboveall, thed movies, "Dangerous Minds" provides valuable insights into the
complexities of cross-cultural communication, highlighting the challenges, opportunities, and
transformative potential inherent in bridging cultural divides in educational settings.

2. What can you say about the film?

In this movie, I have a lot of realizations, and one of that is, everyone of us experienced
different struggles and problems in life, in this movie I realized that there is a hope that I think
that God send us an angel to do good and help us to conquer and to overcome our own struggles.
Like, Ms. Johnson she gave a hope for her student to realize their potential and values, that
eventhough they are fighting in their own battles in life, she became an instrument to her
students to win that battle.

Second one is, we have to appreaciate all the efforts of our teachers, educators, and our
professor, for me, they are all heroes. Eventhough, teaching is their scope of work, but, some of
their students are unteachable, but they give their best and effort for them to learn. And I thank
you because I learned a lot from my previous teachers.

This movie, DANGEOUS MIND is a heart warming story, and although at times it's quite
tragic, it shows a growing bond between a group of socially discarded students and a very special
teacher.

Overall this is a highly emotional and educational journey, that we learn a lot of things, that
we can apply in our real life and this movie is enjoyable to watch.
