Stitch Definitions:
Double Crochet (dc):

1. Wrap the yo the hook, insert the hook into the specified st.
2. Yo the hook again, draw the yarn through the st, so there are 3 loops on
the hook
3. Yo the hook again draw it through 2 loops, so there are 2 loops on the
hook
4. Yo the hook, draw it through the final 2 loops.

Single Crochet (sc):

1. Insert hook from front to back in the second chain from the hook.
2. Bring the yo the hook and pull the yarn back through the chain from back
to front (2 loops on hook).
3. Yo and pull through both loops on the hook.

The Pattern:

SMALL BLANKET PATTERN (21” x 16”)

● Foundation Row: Ch 43 with Color A


● Row 1: dc in 3rd ch from hook, sk 1 st, *dc & sc in next st. sk 1 st, rep from
* across until the end, finish with 1 dc in last st, turn. (40)
● Row 2: ch 2, dc in the first st, sk 1 st, *dc & sc in next st. sk 1 st. rep from *
across until the end of row. Finish with 1 dc in top of turning ch, turn.(40)

Creating the Knot:

Finishing: After the last sl st ch 13, sc in each ch down back to your starting ch,
sl st into same stitch as starting chain, fasten off. Weave in loose ends
throughout with a yarn needle!

FINISHING:

If you do not want buttons on your scarf, you can fasten off here and weave in

loose ends with a yarn needle. If you want buttons do not fasten off yarn, ch 1,

turn your work to short side of scarf, see pattern below on how to continue.

BUTTON HOLES: (optional)

ROW 1: hdc, hdc, sk one st, ch 1, hdc in next 10 hdc, sk one st, ch 1, hdc, hdc.

ROW 2: ch 1, hdc, hdc once in every st across.

FINISHING: Attach buttons onto the other end of the scarf that doesn’t have the

buttonholes you just made evenly, so they will attach to the holes properly about

1″ from the edge of the scarf.

Then weave in the loose ends throughout the scarf with a yarn needle.

How to Wear Your Andy Button Scarf…

First, put the scarf around the front of your neck unbuttoned, with the tails around

your back. Next, wrap both tails back to the front of your neck. Finally, button and

wear!

Finishing:

Sew in ends: Fasten off yarn and weave in the loose ends with a yarn needle
securely.

Joining Triangles: Use the mattress stitch to join the triangles.

Mattress Stitch: Holding the two triangles right side up, making sure the sts are
lined up from each triangle along the edge, using st markers to hold them
together evenly.

With COLOR B yarn and yarn needle, mattress stitch 91 times along the edge to
join.

The Pattern:

THE BAND

● Row 1: Ch 7, starting in the second ch, hdc, hdc in the remaining 5 ch’s,
