Question Tags

1. What is question tag

The question tag is a short question that is added to the end of a statement (declarative
sentence) to ask for information or ask for approval. Like idioms (English
expressions), question tags are a part that is often used in a native speaker's daily
conversation.

2. Question tag formula

Question tag = linking verb “be” / auxiliary verb +/- not + pronoun

Based on the general rule (general rules), the positive question tag can follow the
negative sentence (negative sentence). Vice versa, negative question tags can follow positive
sentences (positive sentences).

3. Example of a Question Tag Sentence
