All About Procedure Text

1. Definition Procedure Text


Definition 1: Procedure text is a text that explains, informs, or helps the reader
on how to make or use something.
Definition 2: Procedure text is text that teaches readers how to use tools, make
something, or do a job.
2. Sosial Function Procedure Text
Features of language that support meaning (for example, sentence structure,
noun group/phrase, vocabulary, punctuation, figurative language). Choices in
language features and text structures together define a type of text and shape
its meaning.
3. Language Futures Procedure Text
Language Futures 1: Features of language that support meaning (for example,
sentence structure, noun group/phrase, vocabulary, punctuation, figurative
language). Choices in language features and text structures together define a
type of text and shape its meaning.
Language Futures 2: Contains stages or sequences of activities to do
something. Use adverbs that state details of time, place, size, and so on. Use
command sentences (imperative), either requesting or prohibiting. Examples:
‘pour in’, ‘don’t’, ‘put in’, and so on.
4. Difference Between Tips And Procedure Text
Difference 1: Tips is a suggestion on how to do or make something better
Procedure text is a text that explain how to do/ make something in a detailed
steps from beginning
Difference 2: Explanation text explains events that are caused by nature, not
man-made. Meanwhile, the Procedure text explains how to make something or
how to use something in operation, with the condition that the thing is man-
made.
5. The Example Procedure Text
Title: How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of bread
- Peanut butter
- Jelly or jam of your choice

Procedure:
- Lay out the slices of bread on a clean surface.
- Have the jar of peanut butter and the jar of jelly ready.
- Using a butter knife, scoop out a desired amount of peanut butter.
- Spread the peanut butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
- Similarly, use a clean knife to scoop out your favorite jelly or jam.
- Spread the jelly on top of the peanut butter on one of the slices.
- Press the peanut butter side of one slice against the jelly side of the other
slice, creating a sandwich.
- If you prefer, you can cut the sandwich diagonally or into smaller pieces.
- Your peanut butter and jelly sandwich is now ready to be enjoyed!
