1. Background:
Latar belakang:

In consistent with current situation, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has highlighted the need
for all the sectors in concern to be prepared and adapt with changes of highly non-
anticipated nor inevitable endemic. Having that to be accounted for, a push or rather
changes to hybrid learning may be made a primary or perhaps a main alternative to be part
in the portfolios for our educational systems (Govindarajan, V. & Srivastava, A. 2020).

Hybrid learning, also rather known as blended learning are the combined mode of face-to-
face learning and online learning (Ma, L., & Lee, C. S., 2021). Such integration has the
ability to perform and subsequently provides benefits afforded by the traditional way of
learning in order to deliver the core context holistically (Broadbent, J., 2017). This
inference may be observed through the disadvantages of online learning in the sense of its
absence of interaction, communication, feelings of introverted, lack of instant or
spontaneous feedback (Ma, L., & Lee, C. S., 2021). These notions however became a
positively demanded values even further under the hybrid learning to be benefited in terms
of its aim in accessibility, independence, and personalization (Blieck et al., 2019). Hence,
the efficiency and flexibility of hybrid learning is growing rapidly in higher education and
may become a “new normal” and methodology especially during and post-pandemic
(Agarwal, S. & Dewan, J., 2020).

Another highlighted problem that can be observe is that most of the time, the online
learning ecosystem has only put a measurement in terms of the student effectivity based
on a single dimension. Holistically, the quality of learning has to be examined through
multi-dimension including but not limited to learning behaviour, emotional control, cognitive
engagement (Deng, R., et. al., 2019). Therefore, this paper will attempt to fill the research

gaps by evaluating the readiness of UiTM undergraduate students towards the concept of
hybrid learning based on objective and subjective approach.

Problem statement (Less than 100 words):

Along the downtrend cases of Covid-19 starting from last quarter of 2021 with the
high number of vaccinations among the population, government is planning to
declare the virus as an endemic. With this news, some university has planned to
start the implementation of the hybrid learning. UiTM is not excluded as one of
them, however, there are still concerns in terms of hybrid learning implementation
in UiTM. Some of the concerns that were highlighted were in terms of its
efficiency, communication, the student independency and flexibility.

Scope of Research:

This research will focus on the implementation of hybrid learning among UiTM
undergraduate students within the scope of the influential factors to the
implementation and the level of readiness towards the implementation.

become an imperative tool to examine and observe the level of readiness in hybrid
learning system implementation of particularly for UiTM undergraduate students
within the application of digital platform.
